Until Oct '23 I worked as a doctor in a hospital but then I quit to do a sabbatical, to learn about other cultures and languages and to broaden my horizon.

Description

Hi, I’m Lisa and I love spending my free time traveling, getting to know new people, learning languages and being in nature. I have lived for several months in Mexico which was one of my most important experiences because I met such interesting people who took me in like family and were so kind to teach me about their culture. The last couple years I’ve been working in a hospital but last year I quit to do spend 1 year in Japan for cultural exchange, learning Japanese and to broaden my horizon. Last month I spent 4 weeks in Tokyo for an intensive language course and next month I'll be working on a farm in Okinawa.

For three weeks in October '23 I went to an Austrian Farm as my first Workaway and it was one of my best experiences! We cooked together, I took care of their goats and chicken, I tended the garden and learned so much about their simple but happy life. So I decided to do this again in Japan :)

Mid January 2024 I came to Japan. I'll stay for 1 year here, and I would love to learn more about Japanese culture and language while doing Workaways in different places and helping wherever I can :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m a hardworking and open-minded person who loves to help people and to learn new skills. I would like to do any job while volunteering, like gardening or working on a farm, working in a hostel, or taking care of animals. Last October I took care of goats, did the milking every morning, and fed the chicken. So I’m no expert on farming but by doing some volunteering I hope to learn new skills and help wherever I can :) also I hope to improve my Japanese to a conversational level.

I have been working as a resident in thorax surgery with experience in treating surgical emergencies so I can help with taking care of basic injuries.

I can speak German, Vietnamese and English fluently, Spanish at a decent level, and I understand French.
I have been learning Japanese for some months, and for the last 4 weeks I had an intensive language course in Tokyo and lived in a Homestay. I'm at N5 level now but I am happy to improve it and talk as much as possible to locals in Japanese :)

I'm a responsible, hardworking and open minded person, and I'm willing to do and learn anything at a workaway and to help my hosts with all their work as much as possible.
In my free time I love to do hiking, camping, cycling and rock climbing. I think it’s important to live in harmony with our environment because it’s a gift we should preserve.
