Description
We are Libusa (27) and Moritz (32), a couple who has been together for 7 years. We recently traveled to Norway in 2021/2022 and are planning to return in March 2023 to settle down.
A bit about Libusa: I am from the Netherlands and currently live in Germany, where I studied Egyptology. I now work as a freelancer for an online course that teaches PhD students how to write a scientific paper. I have enjoyed living in rural areas during our workaway experiences and hope to do so in the future. In my free time, I enjoy sewing my own clothing. During our workaway tour, I hope to learn more about permaculture/eco-farming, foraging, and tourism but I also have experience with babysitting and cooking/baking.
A bit about Moritz: I am from Germany and have studied Applied Psychology (Bachelor) and Fundraising Management and Philanthropy (Master). I currently work for a Fundraising Agency that works for non-profit organizations such as Doctors without Borders. I am also a licensed basketball coach and have previously trained kids for four years in Germany's largest youth program at ALBA Berlin Basketball. Now I coach a women's team in the third season. Since traveling to Canada in 2010, I have had a desire to experience nature again and am excited to live in a rural area and work with it. I have experience as a set designer in a theater and am excited to work less with a keyboard and more with my hands. I am particularly interested in woodworking and agriculture.
As mentioned earlier, we recently completed a 7-month workaway tour through Norway, where we learned and experienced a lot. We are happy to share our story and answer any questions about the new skills we acquired along the way.
So far, we have spent 7 months in Norway and 2 months in Canada. Our experiences include:
-1.5 months on a farm in Fosen, Norway where we built fences and gates, took care of animals, babysat, harvested and foraged, and made hay.
-1 week in a hotel in Steigen, Norway where we cleaned rooms, did gardening, and helped with some construction in the parking lot.
-1.5 months babysitting and helping with household tasks in Tromso, Norway.
-3 months working in a hostel in Lofoten, Norway where we were responsible for cleaning, making beds, check-in and check-out with booking software, ensuring guests were happy, serving food, and fixing whatever needed to be fixed.
-1 month on a farm in British Columbia, Canada where we did gardening, planting, animal care, weeding, wood chipping, and fencing, as well as indoor chores.
COVID Information: We are both fully vaccinated and have received the booster shot.

Libusa:
I know how to work a sewing machine and I'm a pretty good cook. I used to babysit a lot when I was a student and it taught me to be patient and responsible. I speak Dutch, German, and English. I really want to learn manual skills like gardening, farming, and construction. I think it'll be great to learn these skills so I can live a more sustainable and self-sufficient life.
Moritz:
I've been coaching basketball for over 7 years now and I've learned a lot about teaching and learning from people of all ages. I also picked up some skills in construction and design when I worked as a stage designer in a theater for 4 years. I'm pretty handy and I've been getting into woodworking and self-sufficiency during the pandemic. I’ve realized that I want to spend more time outside, working with my hands and being closer to nature. Before that, my life was mostly spent studying and working in an office, but I've realized that's not what I want to do anymore.Âge

Allergies
For Libusa's cat allergy, we just need a room without any cats.Régime alimentaire spécial
We're vegetarians but it's all good if you're not. We don't mind meat eaters and we're totally cool with helping out with meaty meals too.
