In January 2023 we sold Kasabushi Camp, the bush camp and campsite we built from scratch in the Kafue National Park, Zambia.. Since then we have been enjoying the freedom to travel to other parts of the world. We are still living the dream and the last 2 years have been full of adventure.
Andy (born in Zimbabwe) has 40 years in agriculture, construction and safari tourism (he's a qualified safari guide).. He is logical, practical and has a great sense for a job well done. He can do better than basic plumbing, electrics and mechanics, He has a good working knowledge and extensive experience of pool maintenance, solar (water and electric), carpentry and general property maintenance. Lib worked in the travel and tourism industry for many years and is a creative homemaker. We both have a great attention to detail and maintain high standards in all the work we do.We work well as a team with complementary skills that have supported us well over the last decade or so. We were Workaway Hosts in Zambia but have now become Workawayers in order to travel and benefit others with our skills and passion. We are fit, energetic and hard working and love meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, Andy is also a qualified ski boat driver and can sail too.
in 2024 we enjoyed time in Zimbabwe, Rwanda and Uganda. We are currently long-term Workawayers in the Philippines care-taking a busy beach resort on behalf of the owners. In our off time we enjoy the ocean, scuba diving (Andy is a qualified PADI Dive Master, Lib PADI Open Water), free diving. snorkelling, paddle boarding, water skiing and the wonderful people, culture and wildlife here. We are already looking forward to what comes next!Centres d’intérêt

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Andy can turn his hand to most jobs but his passion is timber building and construction. He knows electrics, plumbing, solar, carpentry, fencing, tree surgery, landscaping, vehicle and marine mechanics. Living in camp and 330km from the nearest city we had to be self-sufficient in all aspects of maintenance and building.
Lib is great with design, sewing, creating a home wherever she lives and she's a superb cook. We both have high standards, our lodge in Zambia was No1 in speciality lodging on Trip Advisor and renowned for its attention to detail. Lib did all the social media and bookings and she's got a gift for creative blog writing.
We lived in the UK until 2013 but adapted to life in Africa which was not easy but we believed in our dream and nothing held us back.
We are currently helping friends run their BnB/campsite 'Lukasa' in Lusaka, it's on Workaway. 'Hand Andy' is doing lots of repair jobs and Lib helping with cooking for up to 20 guests, managing the house-keeping staff and general looking after guests and campers.
We built our camp with a minimum budget but lots of ingenuity - it had 'understated class'. We lived in a national park so everything was eco/conservation based and we worked in tune with our environment.
We would love a building or renovating project that really needs our skills and experience. Somewhere that we can take a pride in while helping and supporting the owners in achieving their own dreams.Âge

Autres infos...
We water-ski and have enjoyed getting back on the water the last few months in Zim. We both scuba-dived years ago, Lib has her PADI and Andy SDI. We miss the ocean after years in a land-locked country and no access to the water due to crocs and hippos. Andy is a keen sailor on dinghies and yachts. He worked as a Ranch Manager in Venezuela in the 90s and rides like a cowboy. We both enjoy all kinds of fishing and being in and by water.
We are still up for an adventure, working hard and enjoying new cultures and friends we have yet to meet,Informations complémentaires
