Hey!

My name is Leandra, I'm 18 years old and I live in Germany.

I've just finished highschool and would like to travel to ttavel to a few countries, before going to university.

I love traveling, so far either with my family or with friends. Besides Germany, I've already been to France, Austria, Romania, Greece, and USA.

I just did a 6 week internship at my old elementary school because I love children and really enjoy working with them. From October to December, I'm staying and traveling in Finland.

Ever since my parents told me about their amazing honeymoon in Finland, I told myself, I want to travel to the Scandinavian countries one day.

However, Iceland is also one of my travel goals, because one of my favorite hobbies for about seven years is riding Icelandic horses. I love these animals with their wonderful character and would very much like to get to know their homeland with its beautiful nature.

This hobby combines well with my love for children, because I've looked after them during some horse riding vacations for kids, while at the same time helping out on the farm and doing horse riding myself.

I also love other animals, whether it's a cuddly cat or a crazy dog. Unfortunately, I don't have any pets myself, but I've found other ways to spend time with animals, such as walking the neighbors' dog. I do have a soft spot for huskies; these majestic dogs with their bright eyes never cease to impress me.

My other hobbies include skiing and hiking, which I enjoy doing in Austria during my winter or summer vacations.

I also spent time during the pandemic learning to ride a unicycle, and I still enjoy doing so today with my friend, while making fun of the surprised faces of people walking past us:)

Although I love being outdoors, I also enjoy spending time indoors, reading good books, watching exciting movies and TV shows, or playing video games.

On my trip, I hope to meet nice new people, experience different cultures, learn new skills, and have great experiences that I will remember for the rest of my life.

I grew up bilingual with a German dad and a Romanian mum, which is why I used to be fluent in both languages. Now I still understand Romanian pretty well, but I'm not that good at speaking it anymore.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Animal Care:
I love animals and am always happy when friends or relatives ask me if I can look after their pets.
This has given me experience with different kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, rodents, and small reptiles.
Thanks to my work at the horse farm, I also have experience with horses and therefore have no problem cleaning stables, grooming animals, or getting completely dirty.
I'm also aware of the responsibility that comes when working with animals.

Child Care:
Looking after children and spending time with them gives me great joy, regardless of their age.
Thanks to looking after children during horse riding holidays and my current internship, I have mainly experience with children between the ages of 6 and 13. But I also love babies and toddlers, even though I have less experience with them. I also just took a first aid course specifically for children.

Household Help:
I am happy to help with various household chores, whether it's cleaning, doing laundry, or washing dishes.
I also enjoy cooking and baking, even though I'm not that experienced, especially when it comes to cooking. Nevertheless, I am open to learning new cooking skills.

Gardening And Farming:
I am interested in working outdoors and in the garden, but unfortunately I don't know much about it. We don't have anything special planted in our garden at home, but I love the idea of growing your own fruit and vegetables.

Eco-Projects:
I like the idea of sustainability, but I don't really have any experience in this area either. However, I would like to learn more about it and find out how to use resources more efficiently.

Teaching Languages:
I've always been quite good at learning new languages and speaking/writing texts in languages I'm fluent in.
I'm able to teach German to others, Romanian is more difficult because I no longer speak it well myself.
I've learned English for seven years at school and, thanks to practicing with my English-speaking relatives in the USA, have a very good language understanding.
I've learned French for nine years and Spanish for three years at school, but unfortunately I don't remember much of either language.
