I am currently in South Africa, working, saving and planning my trip to South America in 2026. I want to have an authentic, local experience, learning about other cultures and helping wherever I can !

Description

I am passionate about people and the planet. I have an honours degree in environmental sciences which complimented my passions wonderfully. I have worked in the hospitality sector for 4 years and have worked as a surf instructor & I learnt so much from about myself and others during this time. I have dreamed of traveling since I was a little girl and I am so excited for my dream to finally come true ! I want to have authentic experiences where I fully immerse myself in other cultures, help wherever I can and get to know the locals ! I love to dance, do art, read, hike, swim, camping, film and photography, anything creative, learning, teaching, trying new foods and surfing 🌞

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have 4 years of experience in the hospitality sector working in several different establishments and positions including waitressing, hostessing, bartending and surf instructing. I have a bachelor degree in environmental sciences and psychology and an honours degree in geography and environmental sciences. I have a Tefl level 3 English teaching certification. I have volunteered at several animal shelters here in South Africa many times. I did a lot of team sports & am a good team player. I am creative and level headed, able to think on my feet and work well under pressure. I am good at public speaking and have a toastmasters certification. I also have also done a lecel 1 first aid course. I am savvy with Microsoft Excel, ArcGIS, email and PowerPoint. I can also tutor English, Afrikaans, basic maths, biology, psychology and geography. I love animals, children and people. I can cook, clean, build, paint and organise - anything really !!

I love nature, people and learning about cultures different to my own. I want to immerse myself in other cultures and languages and have authentic local experiences. I would like to be the type of traveler that gives more than I take and to help out however I can, forming special bonds with the locals and other travelers along the way. I love life & all that we get to experience. I am very open minded and really want to experience all that I have the opportunity to experience. I am flexible, adaptable, organised and hard-working.
