Hello, thanks for looking at my profile.
I see myself as a very positive and enthusiastic person. I have recently been set free as I decided after a long relationship that I was no longer happy. I have now discovered that I really enjoy travelling and I wish to spend time exploring new places.

My job for the past 16 years has been in horticulture which has been my joy and passion, but I have now given up my regular job and decided to see where life will take me next. Rather than just being a tourist I would prefer to have a purpose. Workaway seems the ideal solution for me. It gives me a different experience aswell as the opportunity to get to know an area in a way that most people passing through would not. Hopefully my horticultural skills will be useful for many of the Workaway jobs I apply for, however I am willing to turn my hands to anything as I enjoy learning and having new experiences.

Last year I travelled to Mexico to join ‘All Hands and Hearts’ a charity that helps communities by rebuilding schools damaged in disasters such as earthquakes. I also walked the Camino de Santiago, 500 miles across Northern Spain. It was an amazing experience and proved to me that I was fit and confident enough to tackle almost anything. I’m looking forward to the new experiences I will gain from joining Workaway.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

For the past 7 years I have worked for a trade nursery called Provender in Kent. Before that I had my own garden business maintaining between 25 and 30 private gardens. After 9 years of this I decided it would be nice to work as part of a team so I joined Provender, where I have been a plant picker for customer orders. This really helped to develop my knowledge of plants.

I am a very fit person with a lot of energy. I took on an overgrown allotment two years ago and transformed it, making lots of wooden raised beds and a cold frame, as well as laying bark and brick paths throughout. I am confident I can turn my hands to most things and am willing to give anything a go.

I love arts and crafts. I have a BA Hons in Illustration from Kingston University but I chose to go into horticulture instead. However I still see this as a creative art. I do paint regularly and my other creative hobby is sewing. Patchwork in particular is my favourite. I love the cinema, walking, reading and podcasts. Never miss The Archers.
