  • Description

I am a very adventurous person with hopes of traveling and working while experiencing new cultures and places. I grew up in a small town on the water and absolutely love everything involving nature. In 2021 I graduated high school and made the decision to live and work in Yellowstone for the summer. Ever since I have had my mind on living and working in different places. Recently I found Workaway and it has opened my job searching horizons tremendously. I am super excited to see what the future has in store for me and am always ready for a new adventure.

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

One of my very first jobs was working as a busser in a restaurant and later working in another restaurant. This really taught me that I work very well in a fast pace environment and even though it may be mentally taxing and hard work I am good at completing tasks efficiently and effectively. Restaurant work can also prove itself to be extremely reliant on everyone working together as a team. I definitely learned how to work better as a team in order to make the shift run more smoothly. During the winter of 2021 into 2022, I started out as the storeroom keeper for a yacht repair and maintenance business, later moving to the boat yard. As the storeroom keeper, I had to give the workers the right tools and materials they asked for. This allowed me to learn about a lot of different tools that I otherwise would have never used in my day-to-day life. While working in the store room allowed me to learn a lot, moving to the boat yard allowed me to actually get hands-on. Working in the boat yard was extremely hard work but it was extremely rewarding. While there, I mainly spent my time doing varnish, sanding, and painting projects but was still able to do other small projects on boats with epoxy or other materials. This taught me how to be extremely flexible and always ready to learn. I am also an extreme lover of boats so I am always excited to learn new skills. Currently, I am working on a ferry that takes people to and from an island with no cars. This job has given me a lot of customer service skills while still allowing me to be on the water. Dealing with customers every day and helping them get to where they need to be, has truly helped me to make sure their experience is the best it can be. While working on the ferry is very customer oriented there are also a lot of safety procedures that the crew needs to learn. For example, constantly practicing man overboard and fire drills have given me peace of mind that I could calmly and efficiently handle a stressful situation.
