Hey 👋 my name is Jakob, I'm 29 years old, from Germany, living in Portugal. After working a lot in the last few months I needed a break and now I'm here, travelling the canary islands with my car. I'm enjoying the beautiful nature and the freedom of being on the road but at the same time I would really like to fill my days with something purposeful again, get something done and also slow things down a little bit, meet and get to know new people and take the time that it really needs to fully arrive in a place. I have had several Workaway and woofing experiences a couple of years ago and always enjoyed it a lot.
I'm generally more the quiet type of person and some time for myself everyday is important to me. But still I like company and meaningful conversations.

I'm very reliable, on time when we have an appointment, I take agreements seriously and take responsibility for my actions. I am hard working, strong and I want to get the job done.
I love nature and plants, getting creative, going on little adventures, exploring and being active.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

For the last four years I've been working on several building projects, small and bigger ones pretty much all of the time. I build my own little house (not quite ready yet) in Portugal and helped my friend build his and gained a lot of new skills. Together we established everything that we need to live quite independently on our small piece of land in nature.
That would include building roofs, bricklaying and concrete work (foundations, slabs), plastering, a lot of stone work, laying tiles, laying water pipes, building dry toilets and natural sewage treatment, putting up fences. Also I planted a lot of plants and trees because I love plants and I made my own modest experiences with gardening but there's way to improve in that field.
I have chickens and a dog at home so I'm used to caring for my animals everyday. In the past I've also worked on a cattle farm and with a beekeeper in Ireland and on a small sheep farm in Portugal. I like to care for animals and I have no fear of contact.

Please note that I am smoking.
I eat everything including meat and fish but I'm completely fine eating vegetarian also.
I'm currently sleeping in my small car most of the nights so my expectations regarding accommodation are low.
