I have just graduated from studying film in Bournemouth, UK, but have a keen interest in the outdoors. Growing up I would regularly hike and free camp in Snowdonia in North Wales. I attended an arts university and regularly draw as well as experimenting in other mediums such as film photography, watercolour painting and 3D art and animation.
I speak English and would be willing to do some language exchange. I am fairly fit, so can help with any physical work as well as art projects or any other work that needs doing.
In my spare time, I like Hitchhiking and Rock Climbing as well as walking in the mountains and swimming in nature.

I am fairly fit and so would be able to do any physical work that needs doing as well as being artistic, so can help with art projects as well. I am an award-winning 3D animator, and filmmaker, so can help with anything to do with filmmaking. I also paint and draw a lot in my spare time.
I am very open to learning new skills as well and am a quick learner so should be able to help with most things that you need, I am very happy to get dirty and do very manual work, but can also help with more domestic jobs when needed.

I do a lot of rock climbing, mostly indoor bouldering but go outdoor sport climbing whenever possible.
I love being in the mountains and walking - seeing nature.
I love film and photography and am fairly knowledgeable in those areas.
I am interested and open to seeing new cultures and ways of life as well as nature and individuals.
I do a lot of hitchhiking as well, mostly around Europe and enjoy that a lot.

Over the past four years, I have volunteered with Workaway 9 times, and I can comfortably say that this was easily the best experience that I have had. I originally planned to stay at the school for one month, but ended up extending by two and a half weeks because I was having such a great time.

In terms of the work, I spent most of my time… read more helping in English classes and afterschool workshops with Martina, which means I was mostly with the year 4s and 5s, but also had the opportunity to help with the younger and older years, which was great as well. The kids are all so enthusiastic and kind, making the teaching experience very enjoyable. The other teachers were all also really friendly and made me feel like a part of the team very quickly – the staff room that I spent a lot of time in was often full of laughter, even on harder days.

As well as living in a really great apartment next to the school for a few weeks, I also had the pleasure of staying with three amazing host families during my time in Banská Štiavnica, each of which were very hospitable, organising trips to Bratislava, the local sights, nearby cities, cultural events, and visiting friends and family. This experience of being welcomed into the community is really something that sets this Workaway apart as everyone that I met was very welcoming and made me feel very comfortable.

Joining in with the extracurricular activities at the school was another highlight of the experience; if you like climbing, the school has a massive climbing wall outside which I managed to go on a few times each week. I also played volleyball for the first time while at the school, and ended up playing multiple times a week with the kids, which became one of my favourite things to do at the school. There is also table tennis, floorball, football, music, art and many other activities that you can take part in in the afternoons.

I really cannot recommend this workaway enough, especially if you are interested in, or have experience working with kids. I made friends here who I hope I will stay in contact with for a long time and I really hope that I can go back in the future. It can be hard work at times, but the more you put in, the more you get out of the experience, and I really feel that I got a lot out of volunteering here, and not just all of the lovely art and gifts from the kids.

What Martina has managed to organise in the school is really special and I am very grateful that I got to experience it and meet all of the great people that I did.

I spent a month at the hostel in Sarajevo, but could have easily stayed for longer. Sejla is a great host who clearly cares deeply about her hostel and the guests who stay there. I stayed with Nathan for 2 weeks. We managed to do a decent amount of climbing, although most of the routes were too difficult for me, I still had a good time cleaning new climbs and doing some easier stuff where possible.

I only got to stay with Fay and Jonny for a week, however to say a lot happened in that time would be a massive understatement. My main job was burying a water pipe that ran from the river to supply water to the taps, showers etc... After two days of burying it, it was dug up by a neighbor, so we had to start again.
