Description

We are a couple of travellers. Ivan from Argentina and Sanja from Serbia.

Since we met (2016) we decided to live traveling. We abandoned our comfort zone and hitchhiked around Europe, and our trip got extended to the rest of the world.

We travelled together around more than 30 countries. During this trip, we had the opportunity to learn about local cultures and get to know people from different and diverse countries we have visited. We developed many skills, exchanged ideas and shared experiences, adapting ourselves to every new place we have been to.

We are constantly looking for new ways to improve our skills and knowledge, always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it's working in a bar, cooking, helping and providing excellent guest experience, or simply learning new tasks.

We live a simple life, traveling and seizing different opportunities that come along the way.
Workaway is part of this trip and our travel life.

We consider ourselves proactive, multitask, fast learners and someone who adapts quickly to new environment.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

* Receptionist:
We have been working as a receptionist in different projects for more than 6 years. This includes working in different hostels and campsites.
We managed reservations, check ins and check outs, provided information about local attractions, which helped us improve our communication and customer service skills.

* Cooking and bar / restaurant service

-Pizza Maker: From the dough to the oven, Ivan is familiar with different dough recipes and a wide range of toppings to create delicious Napoletana style pizzas.
Back in Argentina Ivan was in charge of the kitchen in a busy pizzeria/burger house.
- Ivan was the main cook at a campsite in Spain in the summer season '23 and '24. He was in charge of developing menus and preparing different meals and desserts: barbecue, paella, lasagna and more. We also organised pizza nights and prepared pizza for over 100 customers.

- Sanja helped in the kitchen and worked as a waitress, taking the orders and providing excellent dining experience.
- In addition, we are always willing to help in other areas of the restaurant, such as cleaning and stocking.

We both worked as bar staff.
- We are familiar with using Espresso machine as we prepared coffee for guests
- Able to prepare drinks and cocktails.

* Social media/ content creating
Sanja has a Bachelor degree in marketing and has recently finished digital marketing course.
We love creating engaging content and coming up with new and exciting ways to connect with audiences.

* DIY/ Wood work - Gardening
Ivan was involved in many projects that included working with wood, restoring furniture, painting and handling tools in a workshop.
He is able to use cutting and gardening tools. Like lawn mower, string trimmer, saw, etc.

*Host
During the winter season 22/23 we run our own "guest house" project in the Serbian mountains. A small cabin house with 10 beds. We created a cozy place,
and the service included breakfast and meals.

* Language teaching
Sanja is currently working as a digital nomad for an online international school, teaching English to kids

Autres infos...

Every year we make an "update" of our profile. After Covid, we have been moving differently, not as much as we used to travel before. Here is some info about our journey that we would like to share since we consider it is part of our "work and traveler" profile.

Since 2017 we have lived traveling. We left our comfort zone to hit the road and discover the world.
Our choice of travelling was hitchhiking. We only travelled hitchhiking with a tent and our backpacks.
We traveled around the world moving with just the little we need.
Couchsurfing, volunteering and workaway helped us to find places where we could stop and work. This helped us to continue with our way of travelling.
Between 2017 and 2020 we mostly traveled in Europe, getting to know most of the regions and the main cities in all the continent.

2018
We hitchhiked from Croatia to Spain. Spain to Norway, and back, to Serbia, and Turkey. We face north across Bulgaria and Serbia, again.
During the winter season, we did Workaway volunteering in a ski resort in Czech Republic.
In the middle of the winter we started to move again, through Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia,
Crossing Russia towards south with average temperatures of -20!
We hitchhiked back to Moscow from Tblisi and from there, all the way to Spain.
We decided to cross one more time Europe and from Spain went back to Serbia.

2019-2021
Our trip started in Finland and continued one more time across Russia. We traveled in Transiberian Railway and crossed 10,000km. After a long trip, we got stuck in the other side of the world trying to go somewhere. Suddenly Japan was our next destination.
In Japan we did a two month Workaway.
After winter season in Japan, we made a big trip to Argentina. We went back home after 4 years, and hitchhiked more than 15000 km around the whole country. We came back to Europe and did 2 big trips, taking more time to explore some areas like Alsace and Tirol.
Last winter, we got a great opportunity to work in a Ski resort, one more time- Low Tatras in Slovakia. We worked in different restaurants and used the free time to enjoy skiing.
The pandemic situation made our way of travel and life quite difficult. Between 20- 22 we did just short trips around Serbia. We used this non-travelling time to improve our skills in digital marketing and photography.

2023- now
We did Camino de Santiago in Spain.

After covid lockdown Ivan was able to do many different bike trips: around 10 000 km in different countries, divided between a trip to Romania, Patagonia in Argentina, across Europe from Spain to Serbia, Montenegro mountains. Another trip from Serbia to Kapadokia in Turkey, and last spring he did a bike trip around Scotland.
