Hello there, I am a very youthful and energetic 60 something who is currently teaching French studies in HE. I have been living in the UK for + 30 years. I have an unusual background (done all kind of jobs...) but I went back to university as a mature student in my late 30's, got a PhD in literature and started working in Higher education. I have a very good sense of humour, I am versatile, open and very independent, I get on well with people of any ages and backgrounds. I like traveling on my own, walking and Nordic walking, contemporary art, culture and languages, I am curious about life and people. I am a vegetarian and very interested in Buddhism. I speak French and English fluently and have a very good level of Spanish (B2/C1 = higher intermediate- advanced, nivel superior Cervantes Institute). I have been to Spain many times as well as studying in Barcelona as an Erasmus student many moons ago. I have just spent 3 months (October to December 2022) volunteering in Catalunya consolidating my Spanish, visiting the area , making new friends and catching up with old ones. I was working a few hours a day helping around, reception, teaching, looking after chicken, decorating and gardening. Happy to do anything ! I am looking forward to meeting you. Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I can teach French and English, which I speak and write both to native standard (I am French but have lived in the UK for over 30 years). As a younger person, I have worked in hospitality extensively, from bar work, to waitressing to reception and I am good with people and a good communicator, I am patient and have a good sense of humour. I am good at helping with food (something that I enjoy) as long as it is vegetarian. I am a good organiser, I am resourceful, hard-working, disciplined, reliable and work well in a team. I am used to a multicultural environment having worked in languages for many years and I get on well with young people, I am very used to students.
