After discovering Wwoof (similar to Workaway) in 2019, I love it! With work holiday, I get to stay with the hosts and have deeper knowledge of the culture of the region and country. I am motivated by learning a variety of things and gaining new knowledge. The whole gamut of work holiday, from the hands-on experience of doing the required tasks, joining in the village gathering, visiting the host's friend house, left pleasant, deep and lasting memory on me. Going to beautiful non-touristic hidden gems near the host's house is another pleasure of Wwoof/Workaway. My experiences were: my son and I "wwoofed" in May 2019, in an orange orchard in Wakayama Japan and in a vegetable plantation in Sasayama. My daughter, her friend and I "wwoofed" together in Le Puy-en-Velay, France in a sheep farm in November 2019. In May 2023, my daughter and I wwoofed in a horse farm in Black Forest, Germany. In June 2023 I had my first workaway in an alpaca farm in Bavaria, Germany (please see feedback given by Workaway host). A feedback is also given by a wwoof host if you need it. I hope to have as many work holidays as possible while I am still fit and before my bones start to make more cracking sound;) I am Iris. My daughter, Christal, is not joining me for the 2024 Workaway.
