Description

Hi, we are a young married couple, Ivo and Zuzana. We are both 25 years old, and we come from Czech Republic. We both have a masters degree in lower secondary education.

Ivo: I love travelling, because I can get to know new people, cultures, places and hopefully make new friends. I enjoy working with plants and wildlife and my house as well as my hearth is full of them. I grew up in a family of foresters and I have a deep connection to land and all the diverse creatures that depend on it. I love making homemade jams, herbal teas and foraging wild mushrooms. My other hobbies are photography, martial arts and music. (I also used to play ice hockey when I was younger as well as other sports.)

Zuzana: I love working with children, I worked as an English teacher in a nursery and led art courses for teenage kids. I love travelling and I have travelled all over Europe with my parents since I was young (in particular I love Italy, I spent a lot of time there). I love any kind of art (museums, galleries, street art, etc..) and exploring new places, especially its history and sights. I'm a very passionate sewist, I made almost all my clothes, bags, etc. I also love painting, crocheting and basically doing any type of diy.

We can speak English and a little bit of Russian, Spanish and German. Languages are very important to us and we welcome every opportunity to learn new ones as well as share our native language.

When it comes to our Workaway experience, we spent some time in Bangkok, working in a small guesthouse where we have made new friends and learnt a lot of new skills. We also worked as English teachers in Hai Phong, Vietnam for some time.
Our most recent Workaway experience was in Israel where we took care of a natural kosher desert wineyard where we pruned the vines, harvested herbs for essential oil extraction, and had amazing and heartwarming conversations with our Israeli guests. Then we also worked in a desert eco lodge where we used our Bangkok experience with running a guesthouse but also learned how to take care of horses, donkeys, and make amazing homemade jams.

We are willing to learn new things and work hard. We both love cooking and, of course, we know tons of traditional Czech recipes, so we can exchange some with you.
Overall we see ourselves as really outgoing people. We enjoy when we can laugh and connect with other people.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Ivo has experince in planting trees and taking care of them, as well as with woodwork, because his father is a forester and he had always helped him with this type of job. Zuzana worked in nursery and Ied art courses for kids, so she has a lot of experience with young (4 - 15 years old) children. She is also a very artistic person and she can work some magic with the sewing machine, making clothes, bags, shoes, etc. We both have younger siblings and we often take care of them. We can also cook and take care of a garden. We have some basic knowledge about computers too and Ivo has a driving license.
