Hi everyone
I am a friendly, confident, young at heart person, with lots of enthusiasm and energy, who loves meeting people, making connections, traveling, having adventures, and learning new skills.
Since joining Workaway in 2012, I have volunteered with about 20 hosts. It has been a fabulous experience, getting to know people with different backgrounds and culture, having the opportunity to be more involved with their local lives, and being able to help in some way. With Workaway, I have volunteered in India, Chile, South Africa, Spain, France, Italy, England, and Scotland. Please have a read of my feedback to get a feel of who I am.
From Dec 2024 to Mar 2025, I volunteered as a receptionist at a resort in Goa, India. Last summer, I worked as a castle guide, at Dunvegan Castle, Isle of Skye, for 6 months. Before that I volunteered as a receptionist at an International Yoga School in Goa and for 1 year at a 90 bed hostel in Edinburgh working in reception and housekeeping.
I am patient, dedicated, reliable, punctual, adaptable, hardworking, detail orientated, tidy, and a team player.
For keeping fit, I love dancing, walking and cycling, while exploring new areas. Just getting into wild swimming. For relaxing, I like to practice yoga, and I can get lost for hours reading books. Thanks for checking me out:)

My key skills are in customer service, communication, team working, administration, and organization.
My background is in customer service from working in a bank, as an international air stewardess, and as a fitness instructor.
I have worked as a receptionist, a secretary, an administrator, a help desk assistant, recruitment consultant, English teacher and a castle guide.
I grew up in the Scottish countryside and helped on a farm in my summer holidays. I have had my own garden and love tending to the flowers.
I really enjoy working with people, being part of a team, and I am happy to work independently as well.

Had a great time with all the teams, swimming in the loch, dinners etc. Accommodation is comfortable and socialable. Buses are limited for seeing Skye though hitching is possible. I volunteered at the Yoga School for nearly 3 months. I helped in reception; checking in guests, booking taxis, messaging guests, and dealing with enquiries. You need to be attentive, and proactive. It's a beautiful space, friendly environment, and great for Yoga. I liked it so much, I rarely left and now I am planning my return.

Helen worked at the hostel for nearly a year. She worked on reception and helped with admin. She was a great asset to the company, was hardworking, dependable, helpful, friendly and cheerful. I planned to be at the hostel for 3 months then stayed for about a year. Yann is a great manager, patient, approachable, supportive, fair, and fun. Work is varied and there is lots to learn. I have volunteered many places and this hostel was special as everything was good about it. I spent 4 weeks here and really enjoyed working with everyone, it was a lovely team of international people. Helen helped out on the campsite for several months this summer. She was given responsibility for checking the chemical levels in the swimming pool and general cleaning round it. I spent 4 months at this beautiful campsite in stunning French countryside. Many different tasks to do from getting everything organised for high season to putting it all away at the end. Helen was incredible with the guests. From checking them in at the Reception to serving them drinks at the Bar and keeping them entertained with great travel stories was all really good.
She was very helpful with booking activities for guests and would go out of her way to make sure the guests are comfortable.

The hostel has a lovely atmosphere and you are part of an international team who are really friendly and work well together. This hostel is in a fabulous location with easy access to the town centre, the tapas bars, the Alhambra and the hills. The work mostly involves making beds so can be quite physical but plenty of time off. What a wonderful place the cultural exchange centre is. Full of interesting people, with music often in the background yet at times so peaceful.
