Description

Hello! My name is Gintarė, and I come from Lithuania. I'm a 26-year-old who is always on the lookout for new experiences and opportunities to learn about the world around me. Currently, I'm spending my final days in Lyon, France, where I've been studying as part of an exchange program.

I see myself as someone who is constantly exploring and discovering new things about myself and the world. That's why I've joined Workaway - to meet different people and immerse myself in new cultures. I'm currently pursuing a master's degree in sociology, and I am extremely passionate about this field. Perhaps this is why I enjoy observing and listening to people, trying to understand how things work and how we connect with one another. I find it to be a complex and fascinating art form in life.
Moreover, I have a particular interest in social art and how social problems can be expressed through the lens of art. It's something I aspire to do someday in my life, but for now, I'm focused on gaining knowledge in this field.

I'm looking for friendly and open-minded people to share different or alike views and experiences with. I'm fluent in English and have a decent grasp of French (B1 level), which allows me to understand most conversations if they're not about quantum physics. ;) Although I'm still working on expressing myself verbally in French, I'm passionate about improving my language skills and would love your help with that!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I worked with DIY video projects on Bored Panda channel a few years ago so I find myself quite a handy person. I have skills working with wood, soldering, painting, restoration, sewing, and much more. You wouldn't need to show me how to use a drill or wood-cutting machine :)

Since I've had experience with video projects I have an eye for composition and photography. I love analog photography and videography. I find so much inspiration in shooting film or filming with my old VHS camera.

I have been working with marketing and social media projects for the last 2 years, so I have a decent set of skills in this field.

Also, I'm a real lover of flowers, plants, and everything Nature gifts us. I am growing my own veggies every spring and summer and live surrounded by a huge amount of flowers throughout the year at my home.

In addition to my primary skills, I have other abilities that include cooking ( I was volunteering in the kitchen of a refugee solidarity space some time ago). I am also skilled in working with animals and have experience teaching languages, including Lithuanian, one of the oldest and most archaic living languages in the world, which I can teach you if you're interested.
