Hi there!
We are Paul en Ellen from the Netherlands. In May 2023 we started our new life on the road as overlanders. Overlanding is a way of travelling, slowly, usually with a 4×4 to access remote and off the beaten tracks. It’s not about reaching the destination fast, but merely about the journey and embarking on an adventure and experience the unexpected.
We have extended this way of travelling to our lifestyle. Longing to discover the world, learn about it, its beautiful places and its flaws, and being free is something we desired.
Through WorkAway we hope to connect to people locally, learn their way of living, hear their stories and learn their cultures.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
We are both independent and responsible hard workers for any kind of work, might it be house-sitting, helping in or around the house/farm, take care of animals, teaching, getting some administration in order, or running errands. We love to learn new things, and hope to make this possible trough WorkAway.
Besides the day-to-day tasks we also gained different skills during our studies and work experiences that could also be of use.....

More about Paul: he grew up in the province Zeeland (the Netherlands) and went to the Delft University of Technology to studie Material Science and Engineering. He received his PhD title in 2021 while working on the development of new anticorrosive coatings and corrosion monitoring technologies
Paul co-founded a student Dreamteam “Human Power Team Delft and Amsterdam” with the aim to break the human powered speed record.
Paul left the Netherlands in 2023 to travel full time around the world. After preparing and rebuilding the Land Rover Defender it’s now his responsibility to keep the car running, make improvements along the way and perform road repairs when needed.

More about Ellen: She grew up in Amersfoort, The Netherlands and travelled a lot within Europe, New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia. Playing the violin, and doing sports like tennis and lane swimming kept her occupied for years.
She studied Economics at the University in The Netherlands and also a second master in International Business Law. She worked as an internal auditor in the banking industry before chasing her dreams: becoming a writer and travel the world.
