Greetings! My name is Eize, was built in 1999 in a small city named Enkhuizen located in the polder of the Netherlands. Somewhat surrounded by the big lake Ive been practising sailing and other watersports from a young age. Planning to be on the road in South America for a while, and am excited to see where it brings me.
I like being introduced to new people and their idea's, hobbies and sports. Im an active person and enjoy physical work preferably outdoors. Helping people out and making them happy brings me all the joy and I am grateful for being able to to this. I did get a little taste of workaway and absolutely loves it.
DIY constructing projects peaks my interest especially while using natural and recycled materials.
I would like to be introduced to the farmlife. We have some vegetables in the yard but next to planting, weeding and watering them I know very little about this. I did milk a cow once or twice in my life and it would be cool to do this again. One day I wish to shear a sheep, sheep are the best.
I love long hikes into nature seeking dramatic landscapes and views. This is why i often travel with tent, being able to get further without the need of thinking about a place to sleep. Often trying to get places hitchhiking.
Variety is key for me since I tend to get a little bored after doing the same thing for too long. I love deep conversations but overall take life quite easy and rarely get stressed over stuff. I'm not much of a planner and like to see where I end up and what I'll be doing as i go. However I value reliability highly and believe honest communication is crucial.
Positive vibes around me are important and I'll make sure to return them!Centres d’intérêt

Since I was young I have been working various jobs, in the beginning mostly manual labour like working in greenhouses and a coffin factory (sounds weirder than it is ^^), so I am not afraid to use my hands and have experience with a lot of tools. I would often go and help friends or my parents around their houses for simple construction projects or things like chopping wood and removing the overgrown. I am fit and always in for a challenge. Have some experience with projects inside like painting walls and laying DIY laminate floors.
My parents used to have a big sailing boat for their job so from a young age I used to help out with the maintenance and gastronomy.
For a year I have studied ICT and know a thing or two about software.
I started voluntairing at the kids summer camp "Stichting Vakantiespelen" and started to realize working with people, especially kids, is something I enjoy very much. For a short while I worked as a sailing instructor and then for several winter seasons as snowboard instructor, leading and entertaining groups of various ages to have a great and safe holidays. This is something I am very passionate about. In summer I have worked as a pizza chef and hosted parties and weddings in a cultural centre.
Last summer I worked as a caretaker in a home for disabled people. The work varied from feeding and washing them to cooking, cleaning and doing other chores around the house. This has been an eye opening learning experience I truly enjoyed.
Through workaway in Denmark I was introduced to cement mixing and laying some basic fundations for a future tiny house. Built loads of willow fences and structures, something I enjoy very much. Made the first steps into woodarts, by using hand - and powertools and built some simple paths out of brick and a sturdy chickenpen in Sweden.
Thanks for reading if you've made it this far ;). If you have any questions or would like to have a talk about something please feel free to message me.

Thanks for the amazing time in your old-school old school :). What a great project! One day I'm sure you'll have the paradise youve been dreaming of, although it already is with a couple of cracks and leaks ^^.

What a magical place you two have! So many fun projects, so much inspiration, love, it was more than I had hoped for a workaway would bring me. Many things I've learned and new ideas were always welcomed. You can truly tell the love and creativity from the past five years of workawayers anywhere in the garden. Als plenty of… read more
