Where to start! I love being outdoors and under water. Surround myself with nature so I can feel small. I like to be busy in life, otherwise I feel useless. Hiking, diving, building (DIY style)!

Hello! First of all, thank you for taking the time to check out my profile! I'm Denise, a 31-year woman from the Netherlands, currently located back in Amsterdam since being under water in Thailand for the last few months for scuba diving.

Working as a freelance film producer (documentaries and advertisement) in the Amsterdam summers, I save up to spend it all in wintertime. I mostly pick warm countries and live life to the fullest! Sometimes just as a holiday, mostly outdoor fun, but recently discovered that Workaway is a super fun thing to do as well, since it's bringing me so much new knowledge. I like learning in my free time, and I feel like Workaway is a perfect balance for me in my winter months to enjoy my free time and tickle my brain haha!

As a film producer, I am used to working with all sort of people all the time. It's high pace and always different. I am communicative strong, can work under stress, have to deal with always changing situations and all sort of problems. Need to think out of the box, be creative, and don't stress.
That being said: it's nice to have these skills! Throughout my travels, I learned that these come in very handy while traveling and it formed me as a person as well.

I have traveled a lot around the globe, mostly picking warm and tropical destinations where I can scuba dive. But now, I do feel like I want and need to explore Europe a bit more! It's not always nice to be so far away from 'home'. The comfort of Europe is something I take for granted. In the future, I would love to settle down somewhere in Europe, and through Workaway, I feel like this is a perfect way to travel and experience multiple places.

I love connecting with people, sharing stories, and learning from others. My travels have taken me to diverse places, allowing me to contribute to different projects and communities. Which I really loved. Naturally tidy and organised, I help maintain a pleasant and efficient working environment.
I am not a professional in anything that would probably come in handy while working outside/on famrs, not gonna lie, but I learn fast and am very independent. I am confident to say I pick things up quicker than others due to my work. I really enjoy learning new things in exchange for (physical) work.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’m passionate about environmental sustainability and have experience working on eco-friendly initiatives. I enjoy expressing creativity through various art forms and love engaging others in creative endeavors. Handy with tools and enjoy constructing and fixing things, contributing to building and maintenance projects. Yet, there is a lot to learn! I am a very self taught person and learn quick, but I'm never sure if it's a professional way ;) Through my work, I do know how to adjust to new situations quick and learn fast, so that might come in handy!

I loveeee animals and have experience caring for pets and (some) farm animals, ensuring their well-being. Cooking is one of my absolute joys, and I love preparing delicious and healthy meals for families and groups. From cleaning to organizing, I can help maintain a tidy and welcoming home environment. I have experience in the hospitality sector, ensuring guests have a pleasant and memorable stay. This is also what I do with my job in the film industry, but experience in other branches as well.
I also used to live in my own (partly) build campervan during COVID. Traveling through Europe as a solo girl making myself very handy with tools and fixing problems on the spot. And for the last few weeks, I also build a smaller version in my Kangoo :-)
