From Barcelona to Pacific Islands without Plane: Less Carbon More Human !

We are Miquel and Chloé, Spanish and French, 29 and 27, writing this description from our lovely place in Barcelona, but already dreaming of new adventures!

🕺 Miquel was born in Barcelona, from an Argentinian family. He studied air navigation engineer and got a Master’s degree in cybersecurity management. Since then, he has been working in top firms and companies making internet a safer place. One day he decided to leave everything behind and travel around the world.

💃 Chloé was born in France and travelled a lot for her studies. She graduated with a Master's in Humanitarian Project Management after studying in France, Argentina and Ireland. After her studies, she worked in different NGOs in France and Ecuador and then went travelling in South and Central America.

💕 And that is when we met ! First day in Peru for both of us, at the beginning of our respective travels. We shared a lot of food exploration, sunsets, crazy hikes and treks, a few workaways, surf sessions and finally realised that it was not just a travel love story… So we moved together to Barcelona, found some jobs and started saving money and imagining our new project.

🌱 So what is this project ?
Well, following the Silk Road and arriving to the Pacific Ocean ! If possible without taking any planes.
The main idea is to take our time, make it slow travel, meet people doing a lot of workaways, enjoy nature doing hikes and surf, and embrace local culture (like food ;-) ). We are leaving with no end date but with a lot of curiosity to see and learn on the road.

☀️ Some more random info and talent that we would love to share with you :

We speak Spanish, English, French and Catalan, we do not smoke and prefer to eat vegetarian (but will eat meat to try a local dish).

💃 Chloe : She loves to bake and prepare sweet pastries (and make very good crêpes). She grew up in the countryside and likes to spend time outside. She likes to walk around with her camera and capture the light that brightens a detail or a landscape. She also likes to skate, spend time with dogs (and never get tired of cuddling them), listen to music and watch sunsets! Because of this new project, she started sailing in a club every month and got her Sail Boat Licence (Spanish one: Patron de Embarcación de Recreo with sailing and Baleares extension).

🕺 Miquel : He knows how to play guitar, drums, and any kind of every instrument that belongs to the cords or percussion family. He loves to Paddle-Surf on SUP, surf, skate-surf and every sport that can get him to have a good night sleep. His family bought an old house in the countryside with some vineyard and he loves to spend his days over there, taking care of the garden, the vineyard and restoring the house. He is also a developer! he can code websites, mobile apps, has experience with server maintenance and can help you with all your IT issues!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Chloe : When traveling solo, she helped in different workaways : a little autonomous farm in Argentina, a surf school in Peru, a family Hotel in North Peru, as a receptionist and bartender in Nicaragua... She is very curious and learn fast. As she grew up in the country side, she used to help her dad and grand-ma in the garden, so she is not afraid to get her hands dirty.
Thanks to her studies, she worked in different NGOS developing project to educate kids about climate change, others events to raise money, but also cultural events and international travels. So anything linked to project management, social media marketing, communication tools creation, organisation... she can do !

Miquel : When he was a solo workawayer, he worked at a surf school in Peru, helped in farms in Colombia, taught English in Cambodia... He is a fast learner and love to feel useful. He's a really good musician and can give you guitar lessons. As said in the description, he has experience in gardening and restoring an old house. He loves to be outside and do manual work.
Due to his studies and past jobs, he can code websites, mobile apps, has experience with server maintenance and can help you with all your IT issues!

Us : we love to cook ! Miki is better with salty dishes, Chloé with sweet ones so as a team, we can guarantee you a full meal. We both love animals and above all dogs ! Chloé adopted a little puppy in Argentina and brought her back to France after her study year over there, and Miki adopted a dog in a refuge as soon as he got his own flat. So we will be missing our little companions and will be happy to cuddle yours during this adventure.
