Description
Hey there! My names Cassie and I will be travelling throughout Africa from August to October 2025!
A little about me, in 2023, me and my now husband travelled Europe for 13 months, using workaway to meet new people, try new things and explore the adventure way.
2024 saw us back at home, a regional place called Darwin, in Australia and 2025 is the year of our wedding and for me to continue travelling to all parts of the world.
At home we have two spoodles (cockapoo) called Benji and Loorah, whom my husband will be looking after while I gallivant Africa.
My goal is to spend 2 weeks helping at an African school day care, or community organisation so if you have the space and availability, please reach out!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have worked in Admin for the past 8 years completing a variety of large projects and have done a range of work in the Retail and Hospitality space in supervisor and management roles.
I am a resilient person, who love setting goals for myself and have become very into fitness and health in the last couple of year. I love to learn how other people live and work and want to experience it first hand for myself as I prefer this than being in a big city.
In 2023, I travelled with my (now) husband and did a variety of tasks (see below) however for my Africa trip I am looking at teaching and spending time with kids to help in communities - whether thats with learning english, playing sports or helping them with daily tasks. I am very passionate, want to help anywhere I can and give all the love and cuddles in the world!!
2023 task list:
- rendering outside walls
- teaching English
- chopping firewood both with a chainsaw, axe, wood cutting machine and a chipper
- building rock walls around garden edges
- clearing fields to allow them to be ready for planting or harvesting
- feeding and taking care of a lot of animals including horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, cats and dogs!
- learning about permaculture and assisting in the garden
- painting
- dog walking
- child minding

Autres infos...
I am not a party person and love a good night at home, watching tv however I do love a nice dance and a drink with friends every once in a while. I love playing board and card games and , love to exercise and when we have the chance, love to go exploring, hiking and completing walking trails.

Cassie and Alex came to stay with me in Ghermanesti for 2 weeks in May 2023. They worked on several projects in the garden, making a seed bed, moving some soil to level the ground, painting a wall and decorating a pebble wall. We stayed with Kerry for 2 weeks during May 2023! After a few days in Bucharest, we caught the bus that stopped just down the road from Kerry's and she met us outside!
Kerry provided all the food we could have needed, and although we sorted ourselves for breakfast and lunch, we took turns cooking dinner which was really lovely!

Cassie and Alex are great Workawayers. They approached all tasks asked of them with unbounded enthusiasm. I had a bit of an issue with an 115 year old barn which needed to be dismantled and when I asked Cassie and Alex if they might be interested and able to help with this they were not fazed at all. We spent two weeks in Carol's home in Cherven, and it was a lovely experience. Carol is a wonderful woman from Scotland that has made a wonderful life in Bulgaria. We stayed with Oliver for 10 days and we had a great time! His recreational farm is awesome with donkeys, a pony, cows, ducks, chickens and 3 amazing doggos to keep you occupied!

Cassie & Alex are both very kind, polite and hard working people. They are kind to animals & children, and are great at cleaning up after themselves.
They helped us a lot with removing wallpaper (in super speed), planting tulips, feeding animals, restoring horse arena, ect. they can do any job I'm sure !

We stayed with Marianne for one week in February 2023 and it was an amazing stay! Marianne picked us up from the bus station and instantly greeted us with open arms and an amazing smile.

What a great help they were! Cassie & Alex stayed with us for two weeks in January and they helped us getting our firewood home from the forest. Even though they weren’t used to the temperatures in winter they worked hard and went out every day. Cassie assisted in some (indoor) painting as well and did a great job!
