I will be in Fethiye until mid December.
Looking for a host afterwards for 7/10 days (I have a limited amount of time) preferably in the South-West part of the country

Hello!
I'm an Italian woman, 38 years old, part-time traveler.
I'm keen to learn different cultures, approach to life, get to know stories and people; that's why I'm on Workaway.

DISCLAIMER:
I don't have any fixed travel plans (yet), I can potentially go anywhere as long as I find an interesting project to get involved with.
I'm particularly interested in working in farms with animals. I have some experience with chickens, goats, cows, sheep, donkeys, horses.
I prefer small places close to nature rather than big cities (I think 10 days in a big city is enough!)

I enjoy physical and outdoor tasks, and I don't mind getting dirty.

I had a Workaway experience in Ecuador where I had to let students from all ages to speak in English and I had a blast! I've learnt so much about local culture! I'd love to repeat that!

I'm using Workaway also to be inspired by others, to learn new things and acquire confidence in new skills

I don't mind if we don't share the same language; willingness to listen, understand and connect overpower (sometimes) language knowledge.

I have some experience in the hospitality industry as a waitress, bar-tender and cafè employee; I love interacting with people and contribute for them to have a good time!

This wasn't my first experience on Workaway but for sure has been my truly first Workaway experience, and the best "reward" that I got is that after months I'm still in contact with "my host", Deniz. I've volunteered at Pendaya for almost a month from around the half of the past September. I'm writing this feedback more as a "guideline" for… read more Workawayers that are thinking about volunteering at this place, to let them know what they should expected to experience here (at least based on my experience). First of all I'd like to say that my volunteering experience hasn't always been easy, sometimes there have been misunderstandings, changing of ideas, and not very good planning (in my opinion :D) so at times I've felt a frustrated when trying do to something; also, don't expect to work on a schedule, sometimes you'll work more hours, sometimes less, but Deniz and her mother will always appreciate your work! What I wish for this place is that only people with an open heart will visit and stay here, because every people that I've met has been incredibily kind; the neighbors that visited us with traditional sweets, the incredible hard working women (including Deniz mum) that run the restaurant... The cultural exchange is real and spontaneous, Deniz and her mother really want you to experience the Cypriotic traditions and to discover the island; despite being busy with her job Deniz is always willing to take you everywhere you'd like to go (also on a trip on the Greek side of the island), and you can count on her best effort to solve every problem that you may have (at the times Internet wasn't available in the house but just outside in the garden, and she took her time to try to fix this; I don't know how things are going now though).
Thisis the first time that I've experienced how to enjoy the company of someone despite not being able to fully communicate because of the barrier language: my fondest memories are the ones when I've shared, in silence, a pomenegrate with Yuliana (an incredibly sweet and kind Turkish woman that work there), after a hard job, and when I went to the market with Deniz mum (she can speak English, but sometimes we couldn't understandeach other). All these people are very kind, but you have to fully embrace this experience, occasional frustrating situation included, to really appreciate it, and I hope that everyone that will visit Pendaya will have the same experience as me.
