Hey guys!

It's Max here, 25 years old, originally from Finland, but lived my whole life in Germany! :)

While writing this, I'm in Costa da Caparica, Portugal, volunteering for one month in a hostel called "Natural Mystic". The volunteering here brings me so much fun, that I decided that I need to continue my journey, travelling while volunteering, towards South America.

I felt this "call" to go to South America for a long time, but I think that RIGHT NOW is the perfect time for me to go. Why? I can tell you all about this later when we meet in person! :)

My long-term goal in life is anyways to open-up my own hostel in the north of Portugal one day.
And for that I wanna gain now in my twenties as much hands-on experiences as possible.
The type of volunteering job doesn’t matter too much to me, because I'm super open to learn new things and I think that every kind of work would add value and knowledge to my, but also to your life! :)
Moreover I really want to use the change to improve and practice also my Spanish and Portuguese as my goal is to be relatively fluent after my travels. :)

I'm looking forward to use this platform and meet you guys while giving you a helping hand and hopefully we can profit from another and have an amazing time together!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm pretty good and talented to learn new languages. In fact on my trip I want to almost insist to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese on a regular basis so that I can learn while speaking and listening.

Other than that I have gained now a month of experience working in a hostel as a volunteer and doing everything what is needed to run it fully-booked in high-season. Means: Preparing breakfast, doing the beds, doing check-ins, rent out bikes + surfboards to the guests, cleaning the rooms, kitchens + bathrooms, maintaining the garden, bringing away the trash and most of all: CONNECTING WITH THE GUESTS!
I would say I have quite good communication and people skills and I absolutely love to get to know new people and extend my friend network to all over the world!

I would also say that I have had a pretty adventurous and interesting life so far for my 25 years. I traveled to 38 countries and started studying three totally different subjects in uni and finished one. So from all of my life I can pull some basic form of skills from a brought field of areas. Meaning for example, I can use all Adobe programs as I learned them in my Graphic Design courses, I'm a certified kindergarten teacher, so I'd say I'm pretty good at caring for children, and I also did a voluntary work year in Germany caring for older or for sick people and helping them with every day tasks.
