Description

Hi - we are a couple from the UK, currently taking a year out from our work and life in Bristol. We have both been working in the International Development/Environment sector for the last 5 years, and have a history of working for social and environmental charities. For us, this period is a chance to reconnect with nature, meet a diverse range of people from around the world, learn new skills, and refocus on our sense of purpose and direction.

We have just returning from an incredible 3 month bicycle tour from the UK, travelling through France and Spain. This summer, we'll be heading in South and Central America for the remainder of the year. We're hoping to spend time volunteering, as well as continuing to learn Spanish.

We're big animal lovers and have spent several months housesitting for a variety of pets across the UK. We love cooking, bike touring, running, rock climbing, and are always looking for new amazing cities and outdoorsy places to embrace our hobbies.

We are spending 6-8 months in Spanish speaking countries this year, and hope to really improve our Spanish across this time. We are currently both learning with online tutors, and will be taking a number of intensive courses after arriving in South America.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

George -

- Experience working with environmental NGOs, particularly in sustainable/organic farming, agroforestry and nature/biodiversity
- Skills in website management, copywriting, marketing and social media
- Strong interest in biodiversity, rewilding, sustainable food production - now looking for more hands-on learning experience

Anna -

- 5 years of experience in project management for International Development projects and NGOs
- Highly experienced with horses and dogs - worked in a stables for 3+ years, running riding tours


Together:

- Previous experience of volunteering in Thessaloniki, Greece for 3 months - together we worked in a communal food kitchen for refugees, cooking and delivering meals. We also spent time delivering educational activities for children in a refugee camp.
- We are both actively learning Spanish, and hope to take a number of intensive courses to further improve after arriving in South America
