Hello Workaway hosts!
Our names are Amber and Jordy, an Aussie girl and Irish guy. We are exploring the world together and exploring our place within it, living and growing outside the confinement of societies normal 9-5.
We are enthusiastic to learn from different people, in different places about different things and in turn, learn different things about ourselves :-)
We love to meet new people and share stories and laughter.
We hope that you feel a connection with us through our profile, and that we can learn from each other if you choose to host us 🌝🌱

Here is our little story...
We had both been solo travelling around Europe for 1-2 years before meeting in Portugal. At the time we were both volunteering in hostels and working in bars in the same town. From there we volunteered at an eco community together before travelling up the coast of Portugal wild camping on beaches. Unfortunately due to a tragic earthquake, our travel plans to morocco got canceled so we settled in Ireland for a bit - restless for the next adventure... Now we have come to Asia and we are excited to immerse ourselves in the cultures!!

Our travel style...
Spontaneous, slow, lots of volunteering, hitchhiking, house sitting, collaborating with other travellers along the way 🌏🛵💨

Why we choose to volunteer...
Travelling to lots of new places is great, but no experience can compare to when you stay in one place for a bit longer, living and interacting with local people and becoming familiar with the local environment. It allows you to learn more and create deeper connections to the people and place around you. The mutual bond between volunteers and hosts of sharing knowledge and experiences is very special within itself.

Jordy- Hostels in Portugal, Spain and Thailand. Eco farm in Portugal.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are both very adaptable to many tasks and am a capable quick learners. We love hands on tasks and happy to help out with anything!
- People skills: We're a bubbly bunch who enjoys meeting new people from all over the world!
- Bartending: We're good on both sides on the counter 🍻
- Cooking: We love cooking!! We know that the kitchen is the heart of the home and good food is the key to any heart
- Gardening: We enjoy tending to the earth and eating the rewards 🍅🍠🧄😋
- Cleaning: We will RESPECT the space we are in and keep it clean and tidy.
- Playing with children: We are just big kids ourselves so being with kids brings out our inner child even more 🐣 Amber has over 5 years babysitting experience and used to teach children piano.
- Building: We're not experts but know how to use tools and have created small projects eg; gates and signs. Would love to learn more!!
