Hello Workaway hosts!
My name is Amber, I'm an Aussie and 23 years old. I'm on a quest exploring the world and exploring my place within it. Living and growing outside the confinement of societies normal 9-5.
I am enthusiastic to learn from different people, in different places about different things and in turn, learn different things about myself :-)
I love to meet new people and share stories and laughter.

Here's my life journey in a nutshell 🥜...
At 19 I was living off the grid on an organic blueberry farm picking fruit.
I then moved to an island, K'gari (Fraser Island), to live and work for 6 months. Its the worlds largest sand island so i would spend my time going on 4wd adventures and created some of my closest friendships.
I then set off on a 2 year solo backpacking trip around Europe where I had such a wide range of experiences, hardships and magical moments and learnt so so much along the way. I spent a lot of time volunteering on permacultre farms and communities, learning the skills and the knowledge to live my own life in alignment with the nature around me.
I spent 2024 back in Australia having some family time and saving my pennies before coming to work in scotland this summer just passed.
What's now and next...
I am a new yoga teacher - yin, hatha and vinyasa - finding my path. I would be more than happy to share with you or learn from you!
My travel style...
Spontaneous, slow, lots of volunteering, hitchhiking, house sitting, collaborating with other travellers along the way 🌏🛵💨
Why I choose to volunteer...
Travelling to lots of new places is great, but no experience can compare to when you stay in one place for a bit longer, living and interacting with local people and becoming familiar with the local environment. It allows you to learn more and create deeper connections to the people and place around you. The mutual bond between volunteers and hosts of sharing knowledge and experiences is very special within itself.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I am very adaptable to many tasks and am a capable quick learners. I love hands on tasks and happy to help out with anything!
- People skills: I enjoy meeting new people from all over the world!
- Cooking: I enjoy cooking and am happy to cook for you or help you cook. I'm always happy washing up too. The kitchen is the heart of the home and good food is the key to any heart.
- Gardening: I love getting my hands dirty in the garden and always eager to learn more! I enjoy tending to the earth and eating the rewards 🍅🍠🧄😋
- Cleaning: I will RESPECT the space and keep it clean and tidy.
- Playing with children: I am just a big kid myself really so being with kids brings out my inner child even more 🐣 I have worked in a preschool that has a learning through play approach as well as experience teaching children piano and over 5 years babysitting experience.
- Building: I'm no expert, but I know how to use tools and have created small projects eg; gates and signs. Would love to learn more!!
