Description

We’re Alice and Liam, a couple from the United Kingdom and Canada respectively. We love spending time outdoors and connecting with nature, and are now experiencing the magnificent landscapes of New Zealand. We’re passionate about hiking, camping, and exploring new areas, whether it’s the mountains, forests, or coastlines. Alice enjoys trail running, swimming, and cycling, while Liam loves the thrill of mountain biking and skiing.

Liam grew up in Toronto Canada, and spent much of his free time in northern Ontario, exploring the Canadian wilderness and honing his skiing skills. Alice grew up near the Peak District in the United Kingdom, and traversed the hills and mountains of the British countryside. We met at Durham University, and have been together for 7 years. We lived in Glasgow for a year for Alice’s Master's degree, and took the opportunity to travel throughout the beautiful Scottish highlands during this time.

We’re both motivated by new experiences, meeting new people, and learning different ways of living. Being able to give back through work and immerse ourselves in local cultures brings us a lot of happiness. We’re always ready to lend a hand with enthusiasm, be it helping with outdoor projects, gardening, or any task that we can lend our varied skillset to. We love problem solving and appreciate new challenges, and can’t wait to help out wherever needed! We’re excited to meet fellow adventurers and contribute to a meaningful experience together!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We have a range of skills that we have developed through our professional life, volunteer experience, and hobbies.

Liam: Over the years I've had the pleasure of working a variety of jobs and different volunteering experiences. On the office side, I've worked in advertising and marketing, enjoying getting to meet tons of co-workers as well as clients on a daily basis and working together to problem solve. I also enjoy more physical experiences, having worked many winter seasons as a ski instructor, teaching both children and adults. Alongside skiing, I love other activities such as kayaking, swimming, mountain biking, hiking, and really anything that gets me fresh air. I have experience doing basic DIY repairs, alongside some landscaping, and even a short spell growing potatoes. Most importantly, I'm always open to trying new things, experiencing all life has to offer!


Alice: I have a range of volunteer experience, from working with children in museum communication to looking after dogs in a rescue centre. I've also had an eclectic range of jobs, from working as a tour guide in a lighthouse to a leisure assistant in a gym and pool (where I qualified as a pool responder and first aider!) In the latter role I was also responsible for the gym's social media, so can bring some Canva, Facebook and Instagram skills to the table! I love art and painting, and have plenty of experience decorating/painting outdoor furniture, so would be more than happy to help with anything related to that, and have great attention to detail, so would love to try my hand at DIY projects. At home, our family garden is our pride and joy, so I have a range of skills from planting, weeding, pruning, and harvesting homegrown produce. I'd love to gain more skills in this area, in particular conservation, but I'm very open to whatever opportunities are on offer! I also love to cook and prepare food, and have a range of recipes I'd love to share with whatever hosts we find!
