Hello! My name is Alexis, I'm 20 and I'm in my final year of a bachelor's degree at university. Curiosity is my main driving force in life, and I'm constantly on the lookout for new opportunities to broaden my horizons. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, reading, sport (hiking, skiing, tennis, football),cooking, especially delicious homemade fruity desserts. I also grow my own fruit, vegetables (I try to change every year) and herbs. I'm looking for new experiences and new people to meet. I'm dynamic, open-minded and eager to learn. I'd never heard of Workaway until recently, when I was looking to do some voluntary work abroad. As a student, we have a lot of holidays and it's a chance for me to do something different, rewarding and worthwhile. In my opinion, Workaway offers a unique opportunity to learn new things in many different fields, whether related to sustainable agriculture, permaculture, animal husbandry, construction, etc. It also allows you to develop skills in independent living, teamwork and adapting to new environments. All while spending time in the great outdoors and meeting hosts from different cultures and countries. For me, it's also a new way of travelling that's sustainable and affordable, exploring places off the beaten track and getting involved in local projects with a real purpose. Finally, it's also a way of forging links by meeting new people who share the same values and, who knows, maybe forming lasting friendships !

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As a volunteer for the Workaway programme, I'm proud to share my many assets and skills that could be beneficial to your project. Firstly, I have experience in babysitting, which means I am attentive, responsible and able to take care of children in a safe and caring way. My role was to collect them from the childcare centre, entertain them, prepare supper and put them to bed. I also gave support classes for 2 years, demonstrating my ability to teach and share my knowledge in various fields. For one season, I became a ski instructor during my holidays, which enabled me to develop my communication, group management and teaching skills. Recently, I have experimented with home-sitting and looking after animals in the absence of their owners, so you can rest assured that I am trustworthy and capable of caring for the premises and animals with attention and dedication. As noted in my profile, I sometimes do some gardening in my spare time, and I'm familiar with the tasks involved in maintaining and beautifying outdoor spaces. I also have a driving licence and a scooter licence, which means I can get around easily and independently, which could be an advantage when I need to reach distant workplaces or transport equipment if necessary. Finally, I also have a licence to sail on Swiss lakes. All in all, I'm enthusiastic about taking part in Workaway projects, sharing my skills and learning new things while making a versatile and positive contribution to your project.
