Hello,
Nice to e-meet you!

My name is Vincent (Vinny/Vin's).
I am a professional Photographer and graduate of Film Studies.

I just arrived in Sydney with a Work-Holiday Visa, and I'll stay in Australia for (at least) a year while awaiting deliberation on my Canadian Permanent Residency application.

I am looking to make my freelance photographer activity bloom here, but also to get interesting and challenging hands-on work experiences in farms and mines.

Otherwise, my goal is to travel as much as possible across the country, and make this trip as enriching as possible! (that is where you come in)

I had a Wwooffing experience in Germany with a friend 8 years ago that went very well, and I've had numerous similar experiences during my travels since then, from pet sitting in cities to meeting up with and learning from villagers in remote areas.

I am very clean and respectful, and I guarantee interesting conversations. I would also love the opportunity to cook you some of my homemade burgers and fries!

Used to journey, I can adapt easily. Though serious when it comes to work, I know how to have fun!

My hard skills are basically the ones listed in the section 'Type of help':

Thanks to a previous workaway experience in Bavaria, I know about managing a farm, working with wood... I love manual labor and repairing/improving stuff!
I have worked as a farmhand (cattle, pigs,...) and as a warehouseman on several occasions.
I can ride a horse and a motorcycle alike.

My father taught me some things about construction work and gardening, and I never hesitate to get my hands dirty!
My mother was once a childminder so I learned a few things about child care, and I also gave private lessons to a pupil for a year.

MY INTERESTS

- Art
Fine-Arts museums are the first thing I visit in a new city!
I am a professional photographer with a directing and cinematography training, and I also do sculpture, poetry, essays... I always sing and dance but in my case I wouldn't qualify that as artistic expression ha ha

- Music
All genres (from Country to Disco, from Gospel to Hard Rock,...) from 1954 to 1987!
Very much into the 60's and 70's.
Favorite band: The Rolling Stones / Favorite solo performer: Elvis Presley
Love classical music too.

- Movies
I studied and work in film so I can't sum that up in one paragraph! As a conversation starter let's say I resonate with American cinema from the 70's (look up "The Parallax View", unknown masterpiece). Bruce Lee and Saturday Night Fever influenced me as a child; favorite series remains The X-Files.

- Books
Mostly philosophy and knowledge-heavy non-fiction, and occasionally some litterature classics. Current long-term readings include The Leviathan by Thomas Hobbes and Le Comte de Monte-Cristo.
Not a day without using some online encyclopedia. I'll often favor recorded lectures and podcasts to actual books for their flexibility.
Used to read a lot of Stephen King as a teenager.
