Karen and Peter are a wonderful and caring couple. They are genuinely nice.
We got along well and shared a lot in common.
The food prepared by Karen and Peter was very nice.
The work instructions were clear and I was able to work independently with minimum supervision.
I have done about 10 Workaway this is the best place

It was an absolute pleasure to host Lawrence.
He is fun, positive, energetic and extremely hard-working.
Lawrence stayed with us for 2 weeks and performed magic in our garden. He cleaned and tidied everything up ready for winter, and even spent a day organising our shed and all the tools. We hadn’t seen the floor of the shed for years! ~now we can

Despite the cold weather and our pleas for him to come inside, Lawrence didn’t want to abandon any jobs that he started, and he worked wonders doing the weeding at the front of our house. He just knuckles down and likes to gets the job done.
In addition to garden work, Lawrence also did a great job painting the handrail on the stairs, and tidying and organising our house and storage area. Before he left, Lawrence made sure everything was clean, organised and tidy.
After downing tools, we spent most afternoons and evenings together. We shared some very interesting conversations over dinner, and we will miss his company.
Lawrence is also very independent. He enjoyed going for outings to nearby towns, and taking long walks, especially in the mornings to buy fresh bread from the bakery.
Thank you, Lawrence, for everything you did while you were with us, and we wish you lots of fun and adventure in your future travels.

My English is not the best but with Karen and Peter it was felt from the first day that we have absolutely no problem with communication as if we have the same
mother tongue and as if we grew up on the same street.
In reality - apart from being of the same generation - we have quite different backgrounds and our mother tongues are quite

I am not a nervous type and Karen and Peter are also two very calm people who treat people with absolute openness and care. They both have an eye for small details, whether it concerns craftsmanship, interior design, dishes, grammar or just the meaning of the word. It is important but not everything.
I don't know exactly why, but I really enjoyed them. We ended up laughing that they have a bad conscience because we didn't have time to see the whole city and the surrounding area together. But I was the one who chose to work intensively and despite that we were still out quite a lot. But believe me - for me it was much more worthwhile with all our conversations, meals, espresso breaks and working hours when we created something together, even though of course I also want to see the city and visit different places.
And one more thing. It's always nice to meet people who consciously choose a place for themselves to live and the place becomes more and more theirs over time.
Thank you so much Karen and Peter! Hope to see you soon. Sorry but couldn't summarize it shorter..Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Gyula)
Gyula was a most wonderful house guest who left us as a good friend. He was with us for 10 days, and the work he did for us is pure magic. He helped to transform a building site mess into a beautiful bathroom. Gyula worked full days for us, and he worked really hard. Because this was outside of normal Workaway guidelines, we also paid him for his

Gyula is super friendly, very respectful, and fun to talk to. We enjoyed long conversations over dinner every evening, and we learned so much about life in Hungary and Sweden. We hope to visit him in Sweden in the future.
Gyula, we hope to catch up with you again soon, and that you’re still motivated to renovate our guest bathroom when you can find the time. Safe travels and enjoy your next adventures.

It was an absolute pleasure to host Riko in our home. She’s a lovely young lady, so polite, thoughtful and adventurous. We really learned a lot about Japanese culture, we watched anime together, and introduced her to some German culture too. Riko made sushi for us one evening, and it was absolutely fantastic. Riko was sadly only with us for just under a week, but she managed to achieve a lot in that time. To help get our holiday house ready for guests, she completely cleaned the kitchen inside and out, vacuumed and mopped the stairwell, and helped with general cleaning. She worked meticulously.
Riko has a confidence and exuberance that many young people her age do not have. We really respect her sprit of adventure, and had fun sharing her enjoyment at all the new experiences she had here in Germany.
Riko, we wish you well and lots of fun on your future travels, and hope to see you back here again in the future.Feedback

Bryan was our first Workawayer and we really enjoyed the 2 weeks he spent with us. We had a great mix of work and cultural exchange.
He helped us paint an entire kitchen, repair a damaged wall, paint stair railings, and did an amazing job organising and tidying our laundry and entry area.
Bryan brought some delicious Asian food, which he

Although Bryan didn't have a lot of DIY experience, he was very eager and motivated to help wherever he could. Once he knows what he needs to do, he just gets the job done.
Thank you, Bryan, for your sense of humour, the delicious goodies, and for making the ground floor of the house look fantastic!

As a first Workaway experience, I can definitely say that I had the best experience with Karen & Peter. I stayed in their lovely house for 2 weeks, leaving plenty of time to help them and enjoy free time talking, eating and chilling with them. They provided the best hospitality you can receive, and lots of amenities you may need. They welcomed me

They also took me to visit Hann. Münden, with the beautiful half-timbered houses everywhere and local monuments. I shared a lot of great moments, discussing about every subject, and having fun activities. I mainly spoke English with them, and improved my German by learning usual words. I was always feeling safe and relaxed with them.
I can definitely recommend them if you want to discover a lovely town with lovely people.
I'll definitely come back to help them with their next project !
