  Description

  Our homestead is doing the rural area educational tourism about the nature friendly living. So we are looking for helpful hand about daily routines in garden (take care about plants, watering the greenhouse, planting, do the wood for winter time, collect rocks from soil etc.), making the location for the events (cooking, cleaning the rooms, making decorations etc ) and doing some social media materials.We are open to all kind of creative ideas about designs from natural materials and musical/artistic performances in our events.
  
  Our homestead is located in small village Rogovka. We are here living just two - me Marta and my mother Daina. We both are taking care about 3ha therritory with permaculture garden, decorative plant collections, food forest, few ducks and hens, 3 pounds here etc. Our passion is organic, simple and slow countryside living in permaculture style, where you can enyoj your own rythm and interact with outer impulses, which always leads to some new inner explorations. In our place you can meet a lot of interesting persons, who is coming through our garden.
  
  Our family business and hobby in one is to organise permaculture events, nature-based workshops (flower arranging, eco-building, handicrafts etc.) and teach landscape design principles to our students. Our aim is to built a place for gadening school with it's own library and more expand the alternative agrotourism. Now we are on the way - doing everything by ourselves, step by step. For the year 2025 we have a plan to build new house for quests. On the moment here the chores are very common rural things - food harvesting, foraging, cooking, animal feeding, lawn moving, watering the plants, celebrating the local occasions, taking care about garden visitors and making photo/video content for blog. We are always openminded for fresh ideas and helpful hands for improving our permaculture paradise!

  Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre

  Near to our house is the culture events hall, where we sometimes are taking part in decorating the rooms and village environment, sometimes voluntearing in events organising also. We have a youth center, where is going on some cooking classes and they will be happy to share the room for new ideas. We are often going to plant nurseries and visiting other permaculture home steadings in Latvia. So everthing about organic gardening in Northern Europe and landscape planing we are sharing with our Workawayers. We are open to different type of art projects also - music, land art, graphic design, sewing or dance... The art of practical and creative rural living - that's all what we are doing here in Rogovka, because that make our lifes fullfilled with joy amd passion!

  Aide

  We need a help for basic countryside tasks (cooking the meals, watering and propagating plants, move the lawn, harvest the food and store it, feed the birds, take care about plantings and greenhouse, foraging etc.). We are organising several events in garden (1-2 events in month like flower arranging masterclasses 3 tines per year, ekobuilding masterclasses 1-2 times per year, taking the landscape design student groups several times, national Latvian permaculture festival once per year etc.) , so our tasks is to manage our social portals (Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok) with new information and video content, prepare meals for visitors, guide them throught the homestead, take a part in different workshops for adults and kids, do the decorations etc.

  Marta speaks in Latvian, English and Russian. Her mom Daina knows just Latvian and Russian. Daina wants to learn some more basic English language for elementary communication 💚

  Hébergement

  I have summer cottage with king size bed and a coach. Another place is mansard with hay bedding. Toilet and shower is outside and in main living house. We have outdoor and inside sauna. Kitchen also is in main living house and in outdoor summer kitchen house. If the weather is colder - there ir electric heater and extra blankets. We have clothes washing machine, but not the dryer. Electrisity is in every building. We have 2 ponds, where to swim. For food we have everthing from our family garden, freezer and basement. Milk products we are getting from local farms. Near our place is two food shops.

  Our village Rogovka is with good bus connection to nearest bigger cities (bus ticket price is about 2 - 4 EUR from Rogovka to Rēzekne, train ticet From Rīga to Rēzekne is about 10 - 14 EUR, ticket price from Rīga airport to Rīga central train station is about 2 EUR). We can show You a lot of other permaculture places in Latvia, where You can see a lot of good examples about off-grid, self suifficent and organic living in Northern Europe countryside.
