Description
We're looking for a warm, patient house and dog sitter to look after our home and our dog Lenny while we're away on a family trip from 20 July to 21 August (one month).
The location: Our house sits close to Bonn, Cologne, and the Siebengebirge — a fantastic base for exploring the Rhine valley, hiking the Siebengebirge hills, or taking day trips into either city. This is the kind of scenery tourists travel here for, and you'd have it right on your doorstep.
What's included: Free, comfortable stay in our home for the full period in exchange for looking after the house, Lenny, and some light garden and plant care.
About Lenny: Lenny is a loving, affectionate dog who wins people over quickly — but she needs time to get to know someone first. With unfamiliar people she can be nervous and may bark, and if someone she doesn't know approaches her too quickly or gets close while she's resting, she can startle and occasionally snap. She's lived her whole life around our three kids and is completely relaxed and trusting with children. She's had a year of dog school and we continue training with her at home. She's well-socialised in day-to-day life — comfortable in cafés, on trains, out and about — and does best with calm, confident handling and a bit of patience at the start.

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
When life is normal, we are very social and like to have fun. We love the nature and go for hikes in the forest or a bike ride, we meet friends or have people over for dinner.
We eat 95% vegan, but don't mind people eating other things.
We have had lots workawayers stay with us since 2014 and have been loving it. We met people from all around the world and really enjoyed learning about other cultures, having interesting conversations and eating traditional dishes from the workawayers country.
We are looking forward to meet you! -

Autres infos...
We live in a cute little town and it is easy to walk places. We have a bike in the garage which the workawayer can use. The tram is 5 mins walking distance away and gets you fast to Bonn or Siegburg. From there it is easy to catch the train to Cologne for example.
