Hello!
*We are looking for a Workawayer for about 3wks*
We live in a 300 year old farmhouse with 52 acres on the edge of the beautiful Monchique mountains where the Algarve borders the Alentejo. We have seen bonelli's eagles, herons, storks, fox cub, deer and once a family of otters. Wild boar live around here yet they are shy so you only see the footprints by the lakes.
After spending eleven years in Cyprus we came here in 2009. We are easy going and flexible. We like to meet people from all walks of life and have also travelled internationally. Although it's peaceful and rural we love the contrast so a couple of times a week we drive to bigger towns.
Barragem de Santa Clara is nearby. It is one of the biggest lakes in Portugal, great for hiking, swimming and water sports.

We are very practical people and although we hope workawayers will have some skills when they come here, we hope that we can add to them.
We love talking and sharing experiences from around the world! It has been a joy meeting so many lovely people, some of whom we consider lifelong friends now.
Aide
Help taking care of our two semi wild cats called Tutti-Frutti and Millie.
We need help with Cleaning (the kitchen floors etc), painting, gardening (there is alot of pruning, strimming and planting), general maintenance.. There's always things to be done! We try and get jobs done in the mornings and spend the afternoons reading and relaxing in the garden.

We are fortunate to live in a beautiful area, perfect for writers, artists and nature lovers.
Accommodation is in a comfortable double room in our farmhouse.

The local train station (Santa Clara - Saboia) is 10mins down the road (we're happy to give people a lift to/from there) its easy to get to lots of places in the Algarve and to Lisbon. There is also a bus from the village.

Andrew is a brilliant workawayer, he came for a month and ended up staying nearly three!
He’s very reliable and happy to get in with things, works hard and has a great sense of humour. Did a lot of repair jobs and painting as well as taking care of things while was away. Would highly recommend

Fantastic workawayer - we would highly recommend, very trustworthy and reliable. Happy to get on with things (painted the courtyard and did alot of much needed gardening) and took great care of the dogs and house while we were away.

Christina and her mum made me so welcome in their house. I loved the place, the pets and the good food. I stayed around 4 weeks and enjoyed the peaceful environment. I cleaned, did the dishes and helped in the garden. We took some trips or just went shopping together. My best workaway experience. Thank you so much for your hospitality and love. :)

Julia was a great friend to the dogs, taking them on long walks and helping to make an agility course for them. She is adaptable, able to try new things and gave her best to any task - in spite of the summer heat and water shortages! Would highly recommend her.

We had to take care of the garden, the pool and the animals for 10 days and we had a great time. Tina gave us a lot of freedom to do our job and we were able to enjoy the surroundings as we pleased.

Tina was a beautiful host.
We both loved walking the dogs, we miss them.

Toms and Agnese are absolutely fantastic! They did so much to help and are such an incredibly lovely couple.
They made a cat house (literally it is a palace) constructed garden paths, painted and cemented, and many other jobs. Our dogs loved them. We honestly couldn't recommend them enough and they're welcome back anytime.

Even though it is more or less far away from everything there are all the amenities you might need.
