Two passionate environmentalists and nature lovers, we started non-profit to try and help with the plastic pollution issue in Malawi.
Currently we have one workshop in the north of Malawi (Mzuzu). We remove plastic waste littering the urban environment and recycle it into durable sheets used in the lining of our product range. All handcrafted and ethically made :)
For the project, which is based on the principal of circular economy, to be successful and expand, we need you!
Depending on your skill base, we might ask help from you to :
- assist in social media
- boost the communication and marketing
- assist the workshop manager with computer related tasks
- develop the outreach programme
- assist in production of the new product designs
- advise on recycling methods
- promote our products and the project
This is a great opportunity to work with local people (tailors, engineers, collectors, seamstress and more), all of who are very keen on this project and are super friendly. Malawi is a beautiful, heart warming country and there is something for everyone. There will be great opportunity to travel the local areas at a low cost and visit some of the most beautiful places on the continent.

This is a great opportunity to interact and live in the local community of Mzuzu. People are very keen to help foreigners learn the local language and nearly all speak English so progression is quick for a keen learner. The best way of eating cheap is to eat the local foods which are simple but delicious. If you prefer western foods or divine Indian foods, there are many restaurants in town to choose from.
You will be able to add skills to their resume: marketing, business experience, social media management, designing, being a part of the early stages of a business and helping in growth, working in unfamiliar climate (flexibility and adaptability).
We are looking for someone who is interested in the environment and helping the people surrounding the project.
Ideally someone with tailoring/engineering or marketing background. Our project has various aspects which we need assistnce with!

You will be living in our lovely home/the workshop. You will have your own room, access to a bathroom and kitchen in the house. We also have a beautiful garden at the back where you can relax and enjoy the birdlife and butterflies. To be able to provide you with food and considering the project is a non-profit, we request $4 per day.
Mzuzu is ideally located with some amazing attractions near by such as: Vwaza marsh (untouched wilderness safari), Nyika plateau (stunning mountain grassland safari), Nkhata bay (beaches, diving, snorkeling, partying), Kande Beach (diving, castle, sandy beach and very chilled). All of these can be done on a budget and we will always help you get information and help for your time off. There is a good, reliable bus service that runs the length of the country and for small trips in and around Mzuzu (and to local attractions) the minibuses run regularly.

We can provide you with an internet access though you will have to add the extra costs of the internet ( a rough idea is 40Gb = 40$). This is Africa so sometimes power is out or connection might be weak, but we are ourselves online workers as we, as founders, volunteer but are not employed by the project, and we managed to work fine.
We have a space inside our garden you can park your vehicle. Though it is not sheltered. The garden has a fence around it.
