  Description

  We are a biodynamical farm and social home for young people with learning difficulties and we like visitors and helpers very much. Here you can learn a lot about organic farming as vell as help in everyday works. You can learn milking a cow by hand and cut the firewood with an axe. We live a peasant life but we are open to art projects and music as well. The farm is located in the countryside of Latvia about 19km from the nearest town.

  We are a small community consisting of 18 people. You will meet open minded people here that try to step over the limits of mental disability, we do sports, sing, dance folk dances in the evenings. There is no boredom here.

  Aide

  As a volunteer here you should be physically fit to do all kinds of farming work and work outside. Depending on your skills the work is very variable from firewood preparing to help with collecting herbs or building fences at the pasture and so on. It is great if you can do some maintanance works as fixing, painting...

  Hébergement

  The volunteer will stay in the one of family houses in a seperate bed. You might share a room with another volunteer depending on availability. We eat all togeather 8:00 breakfast; 13:00 lunch; 18:00 supper. We eat food based on the seasonal products we grow or make ourselves. Vegetarians can also come, for vegans it will be difficult. We have warm showers and wifi.

  Autres infos...

  There are 2 km to the bus stop, you can visit the nearest towns for concerts, museums, we can lend a bicycle, there is one of the biggest white stork colonies on the other side of Burtnieku lake. It is nice if you are interested in nature. This place is not the most appropriate for party animals :). We do not use alcoholic drinks here, smoking is allowed outside.
