Join Us in Protecting Nature and Empowering Communities!

We are a passionate local NGO based in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Our mission is to protect the unique marine and coastal environments of the region while empowering local communities to live sustainably alongside nature. Founded by marine scientists concerned about the rapidly degrading ecosystems, our organization works tirelessly to reverse environmental damage and foster long-term, sustainable development.

    Our Key Focus Areas Include:

Mangrove Habitat Rehabilitation: Restoring vital mangrove ecosystems to protect coastal communities and marine life.

Marine Protected Areas (MPA): Establishing protected zones to preserve marine biodiversity.

Solid Waste Management: Expanding waste management programs to reduce pollution and improve community hygiene.

Coral Transplantation: Reviving coral reefs to enhance marine biodiversity and local livelihoods.

Eco-Tourism Village Development: Planning and building sustainable eco-tourism destinations that support conservation and community well-being.

Tree Planting & Forest Habitat Restoration: Hands-on activities in rehabilitating mangroves and forest vital ecosystems.

Data Collection & Ecological Surveys: Supporting research efforts to monitor and protect local wildlife.

Grant Proposal Writing: Assisting in securing funding for future projects that benefit local communities and the environment.

Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers here will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of impactful projects. Depending on your skills and interests, you may be involved in:

Additionally, we are seeking skilled carpenters/floorers to assist with the renovation of a country house in Tomohon and help build an information center and mangrove track to support eco-tourism initiatives. This is a perfect opportunity for those with carpentry experience to make a direct impact on our community and tourism development efforts.

If you’re looking for a fulfilling volunteer experience, with the opportunity to get hands-on in both conservation efforts and community development, this is the perfect place for you. We welcome volunteers for both short-term and long-term positions, with the option to join various ongoing projects based on your interests.

Join us in making a difference for the people and ecosystems of North Sulawesi. Together, we can build a more sustainable and thriving future!

For those that are fond of scuba diving and snorkeling, you can explore the beauty of a variety of world class dive spots including Bunaken National Park, Manado Bay, Lembeh islands, and Bangka Island. Each of these sites offers a unique opportunity to experience the marine wildlife of corals, schooling fish, turtles, nudibranchs and even reef sharks. There are also opportunities to enjoy mountaineering in Klabat, Mahawu, and Lokon. Volunteers also like to visit Tangkoko Nature Reserve, just an hour from Manado and habitat to tarsiers, famous for their small bodies and large eyes.

At the end of the work day, workawayers who enjoy experiencing local culinary can taste Manado foods such as: Tinutuan, Bubur Manado (porridge complete with some vegetables and served with hot chilly pepper), Nasi Jaha or Jaha Rice, (sticky rice mixed with red onion and ginger cooked around bamboo toast and coconut milk), and Klappertart (Coconut tart). Workawayers can even try "extreme foods" such as tikus (rats), snakes, paniki (bats).
