  Description

  Come and tutor our homeschooled children in Mentawai Islands Indonesia. We are a mixed Australian/Mentawai family of 4. Our children are 5 and 8 years old and do online school through a Distance Education School in Western Australia, there is a set curriculum and online teacher support. Please only apply if you have experience teaching children or have a high level of patience and understanding of young children. We also seek people with a calm yet bubbly personality. We prefer 2 people so they can be one on one with our 2 children. So a couple or two friends are preferred. We live on the beach in paradise in front of the world class wave Lance's Right (HTs). You would be tutoring our children for approximately 4 hours a day, 5 days a week in exchange for beachfront accommodation and 3 meals a day.

  Experience life on an isolated tropical island. World-class waves. Village within walking distance to see the many amazing traditional practices of the native Mentawai people. Our children's grandfather is a local traditional medicine man/shaman who has amazing knowledge of the medicinal benefits of local plant species.

  Aide

  Sitting with the children and helping them through their daily school tasks is required. Workbooks are provided, and they've have a set online curriculum to follow. We have two children, a boy in preschool and a girl in year 3 so it's pretty simple educational tasks. Someone who has patience for young children and experience in early childhood education would be a bonus.

  You have your own room and space. Situated on the beach in front of world class wave Lance's Right/HTs, you can paddle out to the surf from directly in front of your room.
  
  We will provide 3 meals a day and we have an onsite cook so you will not need to cook for yourself. Additional things like snacks or alcohol are at your own expense.

  We're living island life away from the hussel and bussel of mainstream society. Trying to raise our children to be wise and intune with nature. There is a local village near by and other westerners living near by also so you wouldn't be refined to spending time just with our family, you will have a fun life outside of work. There are 10 plus waves within motorbike ride so no need for a boat, lots of fun exploring to do and we can line up a motorbike for you to hire. Check out the local Mentawai culture which is still very connected to nature, many of the locals still live a day to day subsistence hunter/gatherer lifestyle. Go for a jungle trek or explore our beautiful beaches.
