  Description

  Hello there,
  We are one of the few Transylvanian Saxons who returned and revived our old village.
  We have set ourselves the goal of bringing back to life the centuries-old tradition of wine-growing in Transylvania, because in Transylvania - and especially in Băgaciu - wine-growing has been practiced since the Middle Ages.
  Many agricultural areas were no longer cultivated and lay fallow. The accession of Romania to the EU in 2006 opened up new perspectives, as we were able to acquire the so called Königsboden.
  We started the vineyard project in 2010 and managed to offer the first wines from 2014 / 2015.
  In addition, we have been cultivating certified organic agriculture since 2015, starting with around 50 hectares and currently 180 hectares.
  
  But we are not looking for help in that regard.
  We are trying to build a new neighborhood in Bagaciu, helping each other and bringing the Transylvanian Saxon spirit back to the village. In the meantime, we already have the first commitment of two people who will dare to emigrate to Transylvania and join us in March 2024.
  
  We would like to buy and renovate an old house in the village and grow the gardens as permaculture for self-sufficiency. We have already started with a house that after renovation can be available for guests like you. Currently we have space on our farm for four people that we can accommodate. Hopefully in the future this will be even more.

  We bring together many people with different skills and have a large network throughout Transylvania. There is always something to do and the tasks are varied. If we have time, we show you the area or come along to a bigger trip to the city or on a hike.

  Aide

  It is not always easy to tell exactly what work is going on when you will be with us. Therefore, just let us surprise you. From experience we know that a stay of at least two weeks is a good time to get to know each other. We do not expect you to work with us the whole time. But if you can contribute something to our project, that would be nice. Who knows, maybe you will give us a new inspiration.

  We are able to speak different languages and are willing to learn new ways of communication.

  Hébergement

  On our farm there are two rooms in which can sleep two people each. We have blankets bedding pillows etc. so you do not need to bring anything. Each room also has its own bathroom, to which we also give you towels. You will have to bring your own toiletries. On the farm there is an equipped kitchen that we can use together. If you forget something, it is not taht big of a deal. The nearest supermarket is 15 minutes away.

  Bagaciu is located between Tarnaveni and Medias. You can either arrive by car or we can pick you up at the nearest airport in Targu Mures. If you fly to Cluj or Sibiu there are bus or train connections to either Targu Mures or Medias, where we can also pick you up. We also have space for several campers on our farm.
  
  If you like wine culture, our region is the right place for you. Besides our winery, there are two larger wineries in the vicinity. Villa Vinea is located in Mica 15 minutes away and Jidvei, the largest winery in Europe has converted an old castle into a restaurant and hotel in Cetatea de Baltă. Mediaș was the trade node for wine. Today you can still see the medieval city center
  
  Valea Verde resort in Cund (great views, experiences, food - beware of prices), Isla restaurant (Schwabenhof - great food), Sovata for a walk in the afternoon and have a swim in the salt lakes and in the forest there is a tower with a nice view (Google "turn belvedere Sovata").
  
  Sighișoara with the old city and Daneș nearby, with a restaurant and you can ride horses or ponies.
  
  Sibiu and Cluj aren't that far and are a must see if you want to fully experience Transylvania.
  
  This is from the top of my head, you could check in advance some events that will take place when you come over, maybe you are lucky and experience some new things there.

  We have three dogs and there are stray dogs and cats in the village. As long as your animal is vaccinated an gets along with others it should be fine.
