Heidi and Joel were always very kind, welcoming, and helpful. Their children were also super friendly, and I really enjoyed spending time with them - whether we were playing board games, soccer, or having fun out in the snow. At home, the children
… read more have many hobbies that I could also relate to. Programming, chess, Rubik’s cubes and many more. I also had a lot of fun playing games with Joel and Heidi. As Joel was injured at the time and couldn’t do sports, we spent time doing puzzles together, which was a fun and relaxing way to connect. We completed a few thousand pieces together! 🤩
I was also invited to join the family on a bowling trip and had a lot of fun. Throughout my entire stay, I really felt like I was part of this incredibly nice family.
The house is beautifully designed. You really feel at home. My room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed.
The tasks were very light - mostly tidying the kitchen, vacuuming, and occasionally shoveling snow, baking cookies or playing with the kids. It never felt exhausting, and I had lots of free time, which allowed me to go snowboarding almost every day - something I’m incredibly grateful for.
The food was excellent - Heidi and Joel are both great cooks. I really enjoyed our meals together.
Revelstoke is a small town surrounded by beautiful mountains. There’s a big river nearby that’s perfect for peaceful walks, and the local swimming pool is a great place to relax. There were also some great local events, like ski competitions and ice hockey games.
Heidi and Joel showed me around and supported me in all matters which made my arrival in Canada very smooth. I felt at home right from the start. The stay with this lovely family was a real blessing and I definitely couldn't have wished for a better beginning of my journey.
Thank you so much, Heidi and Joel, for this amazing time 🙏. I miss you already and would love to come back one day! Or maybe we'll see you in Germany 😉. Thank you for everything! ♥️

I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to stay with you all in your gorgeous home (you’d almost think an architect designed it ;). You are both excellent cooks
… read more and were so accomodating! I highly enjoyed the variety of different jobs from weeding, planting, sanding, painting and cooking and the work hours were great. Revelstoke was incredible, I fell in love with what this town has to offer! Sometimes I would walk out the front door and my breath would be taken away by the view of the snow-capped mountains that surround this little town. Thank you both for lending me your bikes, definitely was the best way to get around town. And thank you for all the recommendations of places to see around here, these places are unforgettable!

Brianne and Danny stayed with our family for 2 weeks and we enjoyed every minute! Their calm energy and great work ethic made them perfect guests and helpers in our home. While they were with us, they completed a stone pathway and tidied up our yard and garden for the winter. They also looked after our children and made delicious meals for us. My
… read more father also had them come and stay with him to paint the interior of a house. They did an excellent job and he enjoyed their company. We would recommend them to anyone! They were our first experience with workaway, and definitely made us excited about future opportunities! Thanks Brianne and Danny!!!

We stayed for 2 weeks with Heidi, Joel, Cove and Singeli in their wonderful and warm heritage style home in beautiful Revelstoke. We felt very welcome from day 1 and ease-fully joined into daily family life. Cove and Singeli were comfortable with us straight away, asking questions and ready to play! They are hilarious, smart, curious and creative
… read more kids; so much fun to be around! With Heidi and Joel, communication was excellent as they sought to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. Heidi's cooking and baking is fabulous and we definitely were inspired! We really enjoyed working alongside Heidi and Joel to help them achieve their goals. Our work included making a stone pathway, garden tidy ups, child care, meal prep and some painting inside the house. This was exactly what we were seeking, a true exchange!
