Hello!

We're Takumi and Sumika from Japan . :)
We came to Australia on working holiday to learn about different lifestyles and to develop our insights for life.

Now, we are working at Kadampa Meditation Centre in the Dandenong Ranges as workawayers.
Sumika has already experienced 2 times of volunteer work in Japan.
We’ve lived in Melbourne and worked as coffee baristas.


We’d like to help people, to learn different countries and to talk about different cultures.
The reason why I try to do Workaway is that I’d like to have an opportunity to stay with people in different culture.
 

Sumika has involved in forest analysis, conducting tree surveys and analysis in the mountains of Japan.🌳
And she has experience working as a guitar teacher in Tokyo and a specialty coffee barista in Melbourne:)).
She is interested in preserving the natural environment, general gardening and yard work. And she has participated in related activities and volunteering in Japan.
Her hobby: Hiking / Yoga / Making music/ Reading books🎹🧘📕

Takumi studied philosophy at Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan and worked as a video editor in Japan.👩‍💻
He has experience working at a mining factory in Perth and at a Airbnb cleaning company in Japan. And he’s been playing volleyball for 13years. So he can assist on physical tasks as well. He is keen on lifestyle considerations, He constantly thinks about how to efficiently and seamlessly improve things in all aspects of life.
His hobby: Making music / Playing volleyball / Cooking🎹🏐🥘

We were in the same band in Tokyo and We’ve been making music over 10 years. If you play some musical instrument, I’d like to have a musical performance together with you!

In Japan I work for an aerial surveying company and deal with forestry related information.
I am involved in surveying forests and using GIS to estimate timber volumes.

My PC skills：Office tools，GIS software，Internets
Field skills：Can work in forests, fields, and gardens.

Volunteer Experience：
・Cutting trees and pruning branches (using a simple saw)
・Chair making with children using local wood
・Catering at music events
