Recruit volunteers with the time, skills and enthusiasm to benefit your NGO

We give local charities and community organisations the free tools to connect directly with volunteers from all over the world. Workaway makes it easy to find volunteers and provides you an ideal way of presenting your needs via your host profile.

Registering your project is completely free on Workaway.

How we can help

Easily find volunteers with the specific skills you need

Workawayers will describe their skills and experience on their profiles, allowing you to find the best possible helpers.

Read feedback and make confident decisions

Workaway has a feedback system where you can read reviews from previous hosts which helps ensure that each Workawayer will be a good fit for your project.

Connect with the volunteers who are already in your area

When registered, you can search for workawayers close to your location on a map and invite them to your project. You can also use a special search to find last minute help.

24 hour support for hosts

Our international and multilingual team is here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide you with email advice and support.

Workaway benefits

Get fresh ideas and global perspectives for your organisation

Many Workawayers have careers in industry or are professionals in their own field who are taking some time out, so they have real life skills and may even have experience with similar projects which they can share with yours.

Meet like-minded people who care about your cause

Connect with people from across the world who feel as passionately as you do about your projects. Enjoy cultural and language exchanges as the world comes to you.

Build a committed and enthusiastic team to help with your next project

Workawayers are not tourists. They are looking for a cultural exchange and immersion in the local life and want to contribute to the places they visit. They can be an enthusiastic and committed workforce on your projects.

What does my project need to offer to volunteers to be listed on Workaway?

Hosts generally are required to offer accommodation, food and a cultural exchange. However there is some flexibility depending on the type of project that is registering as a host.

  • Accommodation offered can vary, from a guest room at a local homestay, a dormitory, through to camping.
  • Lodging can also be possible in the home of a member of staff or someone from the organisation.
  • Option to ask for less hours of help from volunteers and have them be responsible for their own food.
  • Once we have seen that feedback has been left by Workawayers we can review the listing and sometimes, where appropriate, permit a small amount to be requested to help with food expenses.
