    Description

Welcome! Our centre is dedicated to indigenous cultures, native wisdom, music and art, ecological living, community life, permaculture and living in harmony with nature.
We are a group of families, musicians, gardeners, dreamers and vision keepers who wish to create a beautiful sanctuary for the heart, soul and mind. We organize events, retreats, workshop, concerts and other forms of studies within the themes of ancestral cosmovision, music, art, permaculture, crafts and creativity, indigenous cultures and native wisdom, back to the roots, traditional life, healthy living, wholesome and sustainable health for all. Always inspired by Nature´s own perfect design, we wish to evolve this place to a little piece of Heaven on Earth. We want to get going with vegetable gardens, bee-keeping, fruit forests, building more accommodations, expanding the infrastructure, put solar panels, building dry toilets, work the land in many ways. We are currently 2 families living here full time, together 4 adults and 3 children.

Our centre is located in 30 min from Arendal in Southern Norway. The land is very peaceful and absolutely beautiful. We are blessed with large outdoor areas, large flower meadows and ancient forest. Here we live with wildlife such as moose, deer, eagle and hare as our closest neighbours. We are a multi-cultural family, with owners Anna from Norway and Alberto from Mexico, with our two young daughters. There is also Gustavo from Argentina and Anne-Maria from USA/Spain who lives here with their daughter. Our kids are between 1 and 6 years old. We speak mostly Norwegian, English and Spanish together. There are often more people around, when we have retreats and events there are up to 50-60 people. We have a big tipi, a sweatlodge and a big Mongolian yurt for events. We also have a large barn that serves as a community house. The barn has a community kitchen, communal showers/toilets, washing machine, event room with projector to be used by visitors and guests. We are musicians and there is often live music around. We also have a stage, and an outdoor dining area. The land is about 7 hectars. We have a lake for swimming. We hope to have a sauna in place before winter.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our center for ecological and community living, for study of indigenous wisdom and shamanism, for music, dance and art, and a family friendly place where we enjoy to create a small version of the world we ideally would want for our children and future generations. We receive some of the highest level of indigenous healers and wisdom keepers from all of the world in our events - we believe the indigenous elders are those we need to listen to and learn from in order to understand a little bit more about our being and how to retire humanity's lost connection with nature.

For people with an interest in such matters would of course benefit massively. We also work with music and dance as a part of our retreats. For the right person, a stay with us here we would provide an opportunity to study the native ways of Norse shamanic traditions, and also traditional native cultures from the Americas, from Siberia, from Greenland, from Africa and Australia. We are also blessed to have an amazing group of people that stay at the center, and our little tribe is just like coming home for the right person. There is lots to learn about gardening, bio-construction, bee-keeping, ancestral techniques, the shamanic path, to learn about Norse and Mexica and tipi culture, about magic, bees, life, music, dance and of course also meeting our interesting people from all over the world.

  • Help

    Help

We want happy and work-happy good people with enthusiasm for nature, community, spirituality, native culture, shamanism, family, and just the good life. We have an amazing place that we want to take good care of and develop, so we want people that can either help with manual labour such as maintenance, carpentry, gardening, lawn mowing, eco-construction etc, or helping around the house with cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping and baby-sitting.
We organize different types of retreats/festivals/workshops (mostly in summer months), and also need helping hands for that. We are happy to have couples/families as well as individuals. We want mature creative people who work efficiently with energy, joy and motivation to make something innovative and beautiful.

If you are in addition a musician, artist, therapist, yogi, shaman apprentice, dancer, permaculturist, massage therapist, or have any other skills that can lift the vibe at the centre, it really counts in your benefit.

But these skills are bonus skills, the most important thing is that you can help is either with cooking, or cleaning, or construction and maintenance. Write us a mail and explain a little bit about yourself, your gifts, talents, path, personality and what you could add to our centre.

Website construction/photography/film and video/sound recording skills are also of interest! Tell us what you can do :)

You need to be at least 20 years old, and you need to have an interest in spirituality / shamanism and community living, although no experience within these fields are required.

You can stay first for a shorter trial period. Depending on how it goes and how it all flows, we can offer longer stay. We are flexible and open to negotiate solutions. Contact us for more info.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your time off you can hike the deep forest that embraces our land, swim in the lakes, take a sauna (if you help us build one), play music with the crew, learn about tipi ways and indigenous culture, dance, yoga, meditiation, excursions to the stunning natural scenery of Norway. The ocean is 30 min away. The centre is located in a secluded space with no neighbors, 15 min drive to the next village with shops, bank and post office.
There is also a train station 15 min away. If you come without a car, we are happy to pick you up at the train station.

Oh yes, the climate. So we have four seasons, each of which has its beauty and its charm. Winter months (November-March) are cold, dry and dark. It will be snow, ice, and sometimes we see Aurora Borealis.
Spring months April/May are sunny and warm in the sun, but still has quite fresh air.
Summer months June-August/September are warm, the midnight sun shines all night, we are in shorts and t-shirt and sunbathing. Swimming in the enchanting forest lakes is something we do any time of the year.
