I am living on the beautiful Andalucian coast with my two kids (12 and 14) that are both easy going and bilingual. The area we live in is a surfers paradise and is close to many local tourist towns that you could visit and explore. We have a house with 3 apartments that we are renting to tourists where there is always help needed. Caños de Meca is a little village at the Costa de la Luz, for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy nature and the local Spanish culture. It would be great if you had some skills in gardenwork, maintenance, computer skills or artistic flair. Playing piano or violin would be great for my daughter! We are happy to have couples.Area: West of Ireland.
Our Artfarm is a art dream in progress. It is hoped that in the future it will be a centre for art/film/music/workshops/classes and residencies for anybody with a dream of using their creativity in some way. Some day classes have already been run here including woodcarving and mosaic classes which were a great success. The dream is a work in progress with the ongoing restoration of house, outhouses and haybarn as studio space and organic veg plot slowly expanding. This creative space is in a rural setting in east Galway, 35 miles from Galway city, 15 miles from Roscommon town. It has a minimal footprint ethos with a great respect and love for the space and all its ecosystem. It is hoped that this centre can be a place where the local community both young and old are made welcome and where visiting workshop participants and artists can feel at home. It is hoped this place can be eco rather than ego driven. Anyone with an interest in art and environment is welcome here.Area: Ribatejo
We are one hour from Lisbon. We run a historic estate in a beautiful setting that hosts weddings, summer camps, and seminars, as well as running a bed and breakfast. In the past, it was used as an agricultural and hunting grounds for the nobility of Portugal. There is a main house, a lodge, dormitories, and small houses, as well as a pool, pond, and large wooded area to explore. Offering a glimpse at historic and contemporary Portuguese culture and living, from the agricultural antiques you may be cleaning and organizing to a glimpse of hunting and wedding culture in this country. We need assistance with grounds maintenance and development. Grounds keeping often includes tasks such as raking, weeding, decorating and painting, recovering antiques, trail building, cleaning and organizing objects, and planting. We appreciate especially if people share with us their interests and skills, as we have projects that need doing for just about everything The Summer is almost over now and we dont expect anymore Guests. Now we got Time to Concentrate on things around the Garden and general Maintenance. Sometimes we send some employees over there, for Dangerous or complicated Work. Actually we have one Volunteer but Assistance would be very helpfull, with that amount of Work what needs to be done. We live part of our time in Lisboa, but tend to give a list of tasks and you organize yourself, or we call with instruction. Volunteers who are self-motivated, creative, and flexible do well in this setting. We provide you with groceries to cook for yourself, and often there is catered food left from hunting groups available, providing you with a taste of authentic Portuguese cuisine! We have a great bread oven that volunteers are welcome to use, and of course there is the pool. We expect 5 hours a day, 5 days work, 1 day off, and you are independent to arrange your time according to your interests. Lisboa is 1 Hour by Bus from here and the next bigger Towns are Coruche (6 kms ) and Santarem.Area: ANDALUCIA, Cadiz province, Barbate
We are a french family of four, with 2 kids (7 1/2 and 3 years old). We have worked abroad (Africa, Central America, Pakistan) for years, and after few years in Paris, we decided to settle down in Costa de la Luz (Cadiz province, Andalucia), wich is a perfect place to raise children (and for adults too!). We know the area since 20 years now, and have lived here full time for 9 years. We live in a beautiful and preserved environement, in a old hacienda, in a natural park of pine trees. He runs an hotel/bar/restaurant (with partners) and I am naturopath/nutritionist (give consultations, write recipe books ...). Our children are healthy, easy going on and bilingual (french/spanish). They love receiving friends and visitors. It is a great place for great walks in the park, we are 5 km from unspoilt beach, you can also enjoy many activities (horseriding, surf, bycicling ...). We can drop you at the bus station when you want to visit more of Andalucia on your day off. And when we drive out (everyday to school and more), we drop you so you can visit easily the nice little town around (Barbate, Vejer ...).Area: Center
We are Ged and Karen, an English couple with a young daughter looking for a couple of able bodies and minds to help with a brand new project. Having lived around the world, from Moscow to Kuala Lumpur it is time to settle in one place for a while! We’ve had an amazing experience over the last year with workaways some of whom are I’m sure going to be friends for life! Our vision is to develop a mixed smallholding (pigs, sheep and poultry) with a small eco campsite. What we are starting with is a beautiful property (already renovated), three hectares (7 acres) of attached land, gorgeous views in the South of the Loire region and importantly a good stock of wine :) The property is a peaceful 4km bike ride from Neuvy-Saint-Sepulchre where you’ll find bars restaurants shops and a beautiful fishing lake. We are also very close to a bus route allowing access to the beautiful old towns of Aregnton-sur-Creuse (train station), Le Chatre and Chateauroux(train station). We are also located very close to the Brenne Nation Park, with its ‘thousand lakes’ and parkland it’s a nature lovers paradise.
