Area: m'hamid sud 94KM FROM ZAGORAHello, good day, friends and helpers. my name is Jamal, I'm a 28 years old Touareg. Do you want to feel the warm desert sand of the sahara underneath your feets? My land is 3 km far from M'hamid located in the palmerie or oasis. (95km from Zagora) From Marrakech, you can take the CTM bus at 11:00 and you will arrive at 9 PM, it cost 150DH I m running there already a nice little desert camp wich is dedicated to the simple lifestyle of Touareg people. I want to restore the old Kasbah Sidi Khalil wich is connected since houndreds of years to the history of the dessert crossing caravans. Another big project is to set the old palmerie again in use and make an oasis of life and inspiration out of it. A third project is to help an association with the children to help them to read and write. Of course in Morocco we have the free public school but it s not for the women or children of Touareg who are over the normal age to learn the basics skills. So, well, the one who comes to help and work can learn: *traditional building tecnics right on the object, the 300 years old Kasbah *the marroccain garden *the traditional touareg cuisine *traditional dances of our culture you will eat a lot of Couscous and Tajine. Everybody is very welcome to work creative and to integrate him or herself. I hope we see us soon in the desert...
Area: Cape TownWe are a Cape Town based NPO working with and caring for the many homeless dogs and cats of SA. Our volunteers visit all the different shelters and spend quality time with the dogs and cats. This includes walking, cuddling, brushing, bathing, simple grooming, as well as training and picture taking. You will brighten up the sad and frustrating life of the animals behind bars and will do everything possible to make them happier and more adoptable. You will also assess each puppy, dog, kitten and cat you will work with and give feedback about their personalities to our photo & website team who will take pictures and write profiles. Our website is a popular, large online adoption agency and our mission is to home as many shelter animals as possible and to make adoption a desirable option. You will help us by making the shelter animals more adoptable.
