Myself and my partner run an unofficial animal sanctuary, we have 16 cats, 4 dogs, 2 ferrets, 1 African Grey Parrot, 1 horses, 1 pony, 1 donkey and numerous hens, ducks, geese, turkey, pigeons etc. Anyone who comes to stay with us would have to be a serious animal lover as the cats and dogs are treated as part of the family and we never know what may be coming, last year we had 4 fox cubs and a baby badger. If you want to sit on the sofa you first have to move the cat/dog! Anyone allergic to fur or feathers would never survive. We need help with animals and gardening.

(I NEED A WORKAWAY NOW FOR THE NEXT MONTH FOR PLANTING)I live in a beautiful part of Ireland,on the banks of the river Shannon, a few miles from Limerick City,but very rural in the middle of the country,I have a passion for rural life and the great outdoors, I have a Fruit & vegetable garden which I need some help with, and some general maintenance around the property.there are 4 of us in the family, myself and 3 Adult Children,25,26,28, my son is living with me at the moment, my daughter is in college and visits on weekends(sometimes),my other son is living a few miles away

Booked until September, suggested 4 weeks minimum stay or longer for the right person. We are a happy English family that have lived in Ireland for 12 years. It is a very rural situation with farmland around. 7km to the nearest town (Birr, Co Offaly) where there are buses to major cities – Dublin, Limerick and Galway. Our son 18 years old, has commenced his first year at University, so may be home at week ends. My eldest daughter lives near by (32yrs) - and pops in and out with her husband, she is a horse rider and keeps her pony and horse here. Sometimes a busy house, sometimes quiet. We are lucky to live well. We grow our own vegetables and use local produce as much as possible. So help with the vegetable garden is required, planting, weeding and cropping, just a kitchen garden not commercial. We live at an educational college and farm, the farm is staffed, so no help required in that aspect, but you may have an interest to see the farm and stock – sheep, cattle and a dairy herd. We have a piano and guitars in the house, bikes you can use and walks on the door step. We have three large Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs that live in our house, they love walks. One cat, mostly outside, one cat inside, one rabbit outside, and several horses. There are opportunities to ride for a capable rider, daily exercising. Riding horses is a risk sport so your own insurance is a must. I don't like the house smelling like a stable.. so this means changing and showering out of horse stuff when in the house, also keeping smelly boots etc outside. We would aim to take you with us when we head out, so that you get to see the surrounding area. For longer stays we would hope to help you see and experience Ireland. We have hosted workaways for the last two years and loved it; we have made some great friends and had some fun times. The aim is to help each other to both get the best out of our encounter as possible. Work hours expected about 30 per week, can be flexible to suit both, can be early starts with the horses 7am (or 5am for shows/events). Suggested work plan… flexible. Work 5 hours 1/2 hour coffee break, 1 hour lunch break or more) 2 hours pm, ½ hour tea break for 4 days = 28 hours, then you get the rest of the week off but help expected at meal times, but this can change to suit either as needed (Possibly 6 hours/day for 5days). I appreciate folk that muck in, I expect it of my family, who can see what needs doing and just help themselves and others, as if they were at home. Then we can all have fun, and your free time would be respected too, or you can dip in and join us as you feel comfortable. I also am an artist and would like to spend more time painting when there is help here, the studio can be available for you to use also, and I work one day per week at the college. We are very rural, but centrally located in Ireland. We are easy to get on with, communication both ways is important to keep all happy for the best experience. I am not worried if language is a problem at times, we will help you. I "think" we are pretty normal and friendly. Now you know more about us, I look forward to hearing from you. We live about 1.5 km from the village of Clarinbridge in south Co Galway close to the main Galway-Limerick road. There are buses to Galway/Limerick every hour. Our house is .5km from Atlantic ocean, and 15km from Galway city. Our family is one parent (female) and one child (male, 10 years) and we live in a timber house with a garden. There is always plenty of maintenance jobs to do, both inside and outside. We would like the person to feel comfortable with us, share meals (help with preparation as well) and also feel that they have their own private space as well. Workaways from all cultures are welcome, particularly those who are happy to share their favourite recipes, songs, stories ... with us. Our home is a non-smoking space!
