    Description

We are a family of 4, myself, my husband and 2 boys age 8 and 11. We have a 1 year old excitable small dog , she is affectionate and loves any extra attention. We also have a friendly cat and 4 chickens
Our boys are outgoing, lovable and energetic children, they love to play and enjoy the outdoors. We have a large garden and live on a quiet country road without much traffic. The boys have a big trampoline to play on and really love anyone willing to go on it with them or to throw balls to them on it when they come home from school. Its a great way for them to burn off any extra energy before settling down for the evening.

    Help

We have 2 types of opportunity’s of help available for your consideration

    1. We have a shed that is in the process of been converted. Its currently plastered and in need of painting and fitting out. Photos are added. Its a a nice open plan space with sea views of Spanish Point. If your handy with DIY this project may interest you in exchange for longer term summer accomadation, it could be available for the warmer months to stay in potentially. Please message me directly for more information about this.

(Next Availability 1st Aug, 1 month stay minimum would be ideal)
    2. We are seeking 1 person or 2 friends (willing to share a room) to join our family to help mainly with the our 2 boys and a bit of housework. Weekly pocket money can be arranged for the right person willing to commit and stay for a longer stretch of 3 months or more. Experience with children is important and references would be appreciated if possible.

The most important thing for us is to have someone that genuinely loves kids and wants to play and engage with them. This task rates highest above anything else! The kids attention and happiness is the top priority, we are looking for people who are kind, patient and with lots of enthusiasm for spending time with children

Ideally you will need to be happy to be active, play soccer, play air hockey, table football, go to the park but also happy to sit in on rainy days and create arts and craft projects, play board games or lego, play music or basically anything to make the day a little fun! The boys are sociable and friendly and will be keen to spend time with you . We are a fairly lively house with lots of energy that often needs to be burnt off, so you would need to be up for this going on in the house between 7.30am – 8pm.
You will have the privacy of your own space/room of course for when you need your own time to relax

We also have our own vegetable garden and polytunnel outside the front door. We are just starting to grow food and would welcome any help in this area .A knowledge/interest would be helpful but not essential.

We have 4 chickens, a small dog and a cat, so a love for animals is needed. If your up for doing occasional dog walking that would be ideal.

Hours expected would be usually 5 hrs a day, 5 days a week. 25hrs of help a week is essential in the arrangement but hours and days we can be flexible on if needed. We can plan ahead for each week to try suit your needs and for you to be comfortable with what the hours will look like day to day. If the weather is good and you want to work outside, we can do our best to offer a mix of jobs to accomadate this.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are between lovely beaches, Spanish Point (15 min walk/4 minute drive) and White Strand Beach (5 minute drive, 30 minute walk) There are regular sea swimmers at both beaches that meet in the mornings and are very welcoming to anyone who would like to join them, I can happily introduce you.
Mitown Malbay is our nearest small town, 7 min drive/40 minute walk. From here there is a bus that can be caught to Ennis, a larger town (45 minutes away)
Lahinch is the next closest small town (15 min drive away) it can be busy in the summer as it is a popular place to visit for surfing. There is also an indoor swimming pool and gym here. I travel through Lahinch 4 days a week on my way to work in Ennistymon between 9am and 1pm during school term so lifts would be available.
The beautiful cliffs of Moher are a 25 minute drive away. We have a view from our window 💖
