Description

Hello! My name is Thoa and I recently graduated from a Masters program in Public Policy. I'm currently using this time to travel and explore the world before I begin working full time. I was born in Vietnam but immigrated to the U.S when I was a little kid with my family. Prior to taking this sabbatical to travel, I worked with the U.S. government on a large child nutrition program. I'm passionate about finding innovative ways to address social problems such as hunger, poverty, and social inequities. Perhaps because of my immigrant background, I really love exploring new places and find a lot of joy learning about the different ways people live.

Why I make a great volunteer: I'm responsible, show up on time, and respectful of people's spaces, and willing to learn and accept feedback.

Customer service/hospitality experience:
I have extensive customer service experience, having worked in hospitality prior in Mexico and Chile as a receptionist. In these roles, I supported the hostel owners with managing guests, breakfast service, and social events. Additionally, I have worked at various large festival events (1000+ people) were I supported staff with set up, crowd control, and clean up.

Data/strategy experience:

In my prior work, I have supported companies conduct gap analysis as well as strategy development. If you are a small business looking to understand gaps or generate ideas/ strategy for expansion, I can also provide support.
