Hi there! I’m Pei Ying :) A little background about me.. I’m quite an outdoor and adventurous person, from the sunny Singapore! ☀️ In my free time, I enjoy doing yoga, swimming, cycling to beaches and hiking in the arms of nature!

I've been working in the social service sector as a social worker. I enjoy the interactions and relationships built in Singapore community, and advocating for the vulnerable population. I wanted to take a break from the fast-paced life to slow down and embark on a new learning experience about different cultures and try out new things, in hopes to also contribute meaningfully and pursue personal growth.

I've done a workaway in farming in rural Taiwan in October 2023, and am currently looking for farming opportunities in Japan, learn about Japanese culture, and in the process, meet and connect with others globally in a community. My farming experience had turned a city girl like me into a countryside girl who enjoys learning about permaculture and harvesting vegetables/fruits.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My experience as a social worker has honed my skills in facilitating the change processes and empower the vulnerable population. I would describe myself as a keen learner, who is open to gaining new experiences and meeting people from different walks of life. I want to step out of my comfort zone to explore the world through a fresh lens, and gain insights that aid in my self-discovery and personal growth journey. I hope to be able to do so through travelling, volunteering and meeting people from different cultures. I can speak English (fluent), Mandarin (intermediate) and Hokkien dialect (basic).

I previously helped out in a farm in rural Taiwan, and gained hands-on experience in organic permaculture farming, encompassing tasks such as weeding, harvesting and food processing. I would love to expand the necessary skills in farming!
