I left my home at 17 and went on a journey of a lifetime. Every day I have been blessed with new knowledge and a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.

Despite my young age, I have managed to do many meaningful things. For a living, I was employed at two American companies where I did freight brokerage and logistics coordination. Last year, I decided to quit my job and go on an adventure, that is how I ended up on Workaway.

There were a variety of different reasons why I quit but the primary is that I am an artist. I needed a life full of inspiration, meaning, growth, adventures, and I am happy that today I am fulfilling these needs.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself as an artist. To be honest, I am still at the stage of absorbing and exploration. Contemporary art is my passion but so far my ideas have been too big and too expensive to realize. That doesn’t mean I am giving up on them. Although, some of my artwork is implemented using my own funds. Sound and light are my main point of interest as with those two you can fully transform the perception of space. I can talk about art for hours! Not to mention, I love deep conversations and even some philosophy.

I come from some very high mountains and am a Pamirian. We are one of the smallest minorities in the world with our own indigenous culture, languages, and wild traditions. My first language is Shughni which is a dying language, so I like to keep it alive by teaching some words to my friends and the people I meet along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I will divide this into two categories: Craftsmanship and professional skills.

Craftsmanship. Since I come from the mountains, I naturally know how to work in the garden. You can trust me with your plants and plans regarding the plants haha. Trimming is something I enjoy doing, and if you want some landscape design to be done, please delegate it to me! Actually, any type of design is something I would be so happy to help with. Both planning and implementation. Speaking of implementation, not an expert but have some knowledge of building. I can do stone walls, lay bricks, plastering, painting, work with concrete, and so forth. Ask me where I know this from :)

DIY is one of my favourite words (or three words). Why buy when you can DIY? Anyway, I know carpentry, and I also know how to find creative solutions. We can make furniture or restore your old furniture. Of course, having fun is a big part of everything we will be doing, so get your music ready, I am coming over!

I tend to be organised with my tasks and my space. I am someone who loves papers, so most of everything we will be doing is going to be planned first! Not going to mention that I have cleaning skills because I mean if you are staying at someone’s place, you gotta keep it clean, right? However, if you need help exclusively with cleaning, that is something I could do too!

Cooking. Cooking. Cooking. Mmmm. Love it! Especially cooking with someone is such a beautiful process for me. So much exchange happening, both cultural and emotional. I like exploring different cuisines, but with my gluten and lactose intolerance, I am quite limited in options, but I also see it as a new space for experimentation and exploration. However, I lose it to some meals; the temptation is just too strong that that one day of struggle in my tummy doesn’t matter anymore.

I think this part is getting too big now, so let me quickly give you an idea of my professional skills. Copywriting is something I can do. My writing skills have been very much appreciated by UNICEF in Tajikistan. I can do sales as I was a broker back in the day. Plus, I can do videography (any kind of projects really) and photography (not as good as my videography skills but also acceptable for some professional causes). Any creative projects? I am in!!
