Hello! My name is Luciana and I am a brazilian living in France. I have been living abroad for the past two years! I have some months off work now and would love to travel and volunteer around Europe.

Description

Hello!! My name is Luciana and I am a 34 years old. I am a brazilian currently located in France! I am originally a medical doctor but for the past years I have started traveling, volunteer and working with all sort of different things. Meaning that I stopped my medical practice to travel and discover and experience all around the world.

One of my biggest passions in life is traveling. There are very little things that compare to the feeling of exploring new, different places. Getting to know new people and ways of thinking makes my heart shine in many beautiful ways. Humans are always amazing and getting the chance to exchange life is always valuable.

I’ve been traveling since a teenager, staying in hostels, CouchSurfing, and doing volunteer work. I had the chance to visit more than 20 countries in my life and I plan to keep discovering them all till I can!

Since I left my "regular life" as a doctor in São Paulo city, around three years ago, I have been traveling, volunteering and working. I started my travels in Brazil, trough beautiful Atlantic forest, then went to U.S and finally Europe. I spent around six months in Italy and then finally a much longer time in France (one year and a half)!

Since I started, I have lived in different places and scenarios, from communities and eco-villas, to family houses, hotels and farms. I both volunteered and worked in many different activities and had the change to share life and meet wonderful people.
I have helped in all kind of guest houses, from cleaning and preparing the rooms until reception and managing of the place; also participating in coordinating communities and optimizing their schedule, goals and agenda.
In the countryside scenario I have worked with several gardens, where I could do some planting, harvesting, weeding, pruning, gardening maintenance, grape picking, cutting threes, etc. I have also taken care of small farm animals, such as rabbits, chicken and goats.
In some places I could help in some construction projects (including bamboo construction, which was amazing) and general DIY things, such as painting and some woodwork. In all the places I have been I helped with daily routine: cooking, cleaning and take care of the house.

The last place where I volunteer, a Buddhist Center, I actually became an employee. I worked as a programme manager for all the retreats during the past year. I just finished my contract and I feel ready to travel a bit more.

This new way of living is certainly being a precious “school of life”. I have been learning so many different skills, realizing that I am capable of doing several things that I have never tough of. More than that, I have been having the chance to see and participate in varied ways of living. Every person that crossed my way has been, in a sense, a teacher: showing me their way of thinking, or working and their own amazing project for the world. It has been a great adventure and I appreciate every moment of it.

I am thankful that this platform exists and able us such a rich exchange. Looking forward to meet you soon!


PS1: I have double citizenship (Italian and Brazilian) meaning that I can stay, volunteer and work in Europe such as any European. No visa concerns.
PS: I am fully vaccinated for Covid, have the "green pass" and I am also covered by the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) in case of any accident.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I consider myself a very sociable and open person, so rolls involving interaction are something I really enjoy doing. Clear and kind communication is something I personally like and practice.
Also I am very physical active, therefore willing and able to do many kinds of body work such as cleaning, gardening, building, taking care of places, animals and etc. You can count with me for getting things done, in a tidy and effective way.

As for internal capacities I'd say I am a very organized person. Keeping the space clean but also helping with routine / agenda / events and organizing people is something I think I can do it quite well. I am also practical and, if necessary, able to have initiative for tasks and new ideas.

I am also very curious about the world and how people live: a big part of traveling around and using this platform is about learning how you live and participate in your way of living, so I am very open to learn! Also community living / shared spaces are something that I am really interested in participating, learning how to share and look after for everyone.
You can count to have a gentle but hard working and trustworthy person helping you!

A little bit of myself:

I have a very outgoing side, that likes to be with people and share time with them. I will be always pleased to get to know humans, hear their stories, their point of view and sense of the world.
On the other hand, I like to have time for myself and can be pretty self-manageable with free time, which means that I can be independent and enjoy being alone. In a communication matter, you can always be clear to me and express what you like and what you don't... I don't take things personally and believe that we should be transparent to have a good relation in our common spaces and routine.
About personal organization: I will always clean after myself and care about the spaces and my surroundings. I understand that being welcome in your house is caring for it as if it was mine, but also remind that is not. In this sense I bring a lot of respect and attention to don't leave things behind and integrate in the routine and rules of the place. I exercise so that my presence is a "add up" to the house, and not a burden.

Last but not least: I love to laugh and I hope we can share good delightful laughs toguether!
