Description

My name is Giulia, I am 22 years old, and I would describe myself as discovering the world. I feel young and full of energy, and I want to use it to explore the world around me, get to know the people in it, and in this way understand myself more and more deeply. I have always been a sociable and extremely curious person, and I have always enjoyed seeing new places and meeting new people, but only recently have I realized what traveling really means to me.
In 2023, my exchange experience in Madrid, Spain, was a real eye-opener for me: living for a few months in a multicultural city in close contact with people from all over the world with whom I made wonderful friendships and having the opportunity to really immerse myself in a culture that was not my own made me realize how much more there is and how enriching diversity is.
This realization has pushed me to take a sabbatical from my studies, to have time and a way to explore places that are very far away and really different from the context in which I live.
I have decided to spend a few months in Thailand, and I want to make the most of this time: I hope to meet so many people, locals and travelers alike, and hear their experiences and thoughts, get in touch with the wilderness this country has to offer, perhaps get closer to Buddhism, and better understand a very multifaceted culture that fascinates me so much.
I want to have fun, to surprise myself, to be amazed by things that until a few days before I could not even imagine. I am ready to live this new experience to the fullest.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Since I started college, I have always tried to put some work side by side with my studies, and this has allowed me to develop some skills in parallel with my academics: I have worked inside the bar of a movie theater, as a cashier in a supermarket, and more recently inside the kitchen of a restaurant chain. I learned how to run a bar or kitchen, from food preparation to cleaning the place. Also, cooking is a great passion of mine, so I think I can contribute in this area.
Working with the public also, combined with the experiences abroad that I have had between study vacations and the exchange period, have made me very sociable and outgoing.
I believe these experiences make me well suited for work in hostels, where interacting with people is essential and help in the kitchen or with general maintenance can always be helpful. Also, in addition to Italian being my native language, I have a good level of English and can communicate in Spanish, which can always come in handy in an international environment
Other knowledge I have is related to the context in which I grew up: my grandparents have a house in the country and have always had dogs and other animals, so I have always been in contact with nature and animals, so I have some knowledge, albeit very basic, of gardening and animal care.
