Hello! My name is Emily or Em for short and I live in Perth, Australia. I absolutely adore doing cultural exchanges as I love meeting new people and immersing myself in different cultures. I am always looking to discover new places and different cuisines. Furthermore, I have a huge passion for learning new languages, so for me, traveling, creating new friendships with local people of a different country, and of course, improving my language skills is what really brings me a lot of happiness. I'm a very outgoing person who loves change, so I'm always open to doing new things, and being the eldest daughter of a single mother with three children has made me very skilled in doing everyday household tasks and taking care of younger children, so I can definitely help around the house if needed!

I have a huge passion for discovering and learning new languages and I love teaching people English. I find it so rewarding to watch someone improve their language skills and build confidence in the language they're learning. I believe that knowing more than one language is such a useful skill to have so I love to help people out with English whenever I can. In saying that, I would also love to improve my Japanese right now. Despite having a Japanese mother, I never got taught Japanese, so whilst I can understand quite a lot of it, I can't actually say a lot, so I would love to work on that if possible, as I feel like it's such a waste being half Japanese and not being able to speak it fluently.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Household chores/cleaning - I have a lot of experience and I believe I'm very skilled as I have a Japanese mother who needs to have a very clean home, so I have been cleaning almost daily for a long time now. I also volunteer to clean out people's homes regularly so I am well equipped with cleaning.
Childcare - Being the eldest daughter, I have constantly been looking after my younger siblings. I also have experience looking after toddlers/young children as I used to volunteer in a childcare facility and I used to have to regularly babysit the children of my mother's friends. I also adore kids so I'm very happy to look after children if needed.
Fluent in English
Intermediate Japanese - can understand it at an advanced level though, I just cannot speak at an advanced level
Intermediate French - did an exchange program in France, where I taught French students English for 3 weeks.
Language teaching abilities - as stated before, I did a volunteer exchange program where I taught English to French students so I have experience in it. I also have separate experience tutoring a few students in English.
I am equipped in general maintenance.
I grew up with animals (cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, fish, and frogs) so I am well equipped with caring for animals. I also love animals so it helps :)

I really enjoy being outdoors, as growing up in Australia, I would always be going to the forest/bush and playing around in nature. I also love reading and I adore discovering new foods. I love listening to international music, specifically Japanese, Korean, or French music and I love watching films in different languages. I also occasionally love to paint to take my mind off of things, and am currently investing time in learning about skincare.
